oscar did nothing better than leonard. maybe in the jab dept he was more consistent, but other than that, leonard beats him in everything else.
Oscar relied more on his left hook and as a consequence got more done with it. Hard to say who's was 'better' though.
Leonard. Only reason Oscar's hook gets more attention than Leonard's is cause it was THE ONLY fuckin punch he ever had! Leonard could punch with both hands, but his left hook was better than his right, and it was better than Oscar's IMO.
I can't believe how people bash Oscar ... The guy has got a great Resume and arguably only lost 1 fight in his career (though I think he lost more) It can be argued though ... Some of you guys dismiss him as nothing which IMO is just ridiculous ..
yeah. really. he needs to get with the program: ODH is no good, he lost every close fight he ever had, he only faces opponents after they've shown vulnerabilities, he's a one-handed fighter, and he quit against Hopkins. and none of his wins below 147 count for shit because he was just beating up on smaller guys. Chavez was shot when ODH beat him. he struggled with Oba Carr ( ).
well, Carr's a stinker. and he knocked him out after flooring him early. so maybe he looked crappy, but he didn't struggle with him.
You have to be EXTREMELY generous to Oscar to only have him losing just the Hopkins fight. Having him only losing one fight is more out there than having him losing 8 fights. His 5 defeats to me are accurate, although it should have been to a couple different fighters, the other Felix with the win over Oscar, and Ike with one win and Shane with one win (instead of two).
despite being shot, coming into the fight with no legs, and getting dropped in round 1, carr managed to win rounds and edge ahead of delahoya before richard steele began taking points at a ridiculous rate and forced carr out of his fight plan. delahoya definitely struggled I'd say
Carr still gave Oscar a tougher fight than he did against Trinidad and Quartey. It was a tougher (and more entertaining) fight than expected.
are you suggesting carr was the same guy by the time oscar got him? the same carr who slow danced with the surgeon to 'earn' a shot at delahoya? quartey and trinidad beat the shit out of carr comprehensively. no come from behind KOs or referee interferance ncessary
how ironic that delahoya made those claims about black guys not handling his body shots....then hear comes the corpse of oba carr thumping him to the body..so much so that it was rumored delahoya shit himself in the ring
let me guess...u were the judge who had carr winning and u scores the KD when carr pushed him in the back? next you're going to tell me chavez didn't have a cut going into the first delahoya fight... assinine claims like these are what might have landed you in rehab.
That last hook Ray ko'd Boy Green with was one of the most perfect and brutal in welterweight history. Oscar wasn't in Ray's class as a fighter, or a puncher, IMO.
