Filho doesn't fight in the UFC. Maia is better anyway.

How about listing those attributes division by division? That's kinda what I was hoping for. Sorry for not being clear enough. I would do it too but gotta give it some thought first!

That's a lot to think about. Maybe I'll try when I have more than a few minutes.

I'm not doing UFC only because I don't feel like it.

    FW

    Best Striking - Jose Aldo....obviously.
Worst Striking - Joe Warren makes me chuckle...

Best Wrestling - Probably Joe Warren right now, as his Greco-Roman skill
basically allow him to take anyone down and he has pretty good control....Probably will be surpassed by Larkin in the future.
    Worst Wrestling - Hmm...probably Hansen

Best Jiu Jitsu - Flash pretty much got where he is just on BJJ alone, subbed Joe Warren so quick it was comical, and certainly lived up to his name.
Worst Jiu Jitsu - Joe Warren has comically bad BJJ, he's pretty much bad at everything though except laying and praying.

Best Chin - I don't think anyone is impossible to KO, but Chan Sung Jung might be the closest think to it.
Worst Chin - Mike Brown at the moment seems to have lost all his punch resistance.

Best Power- Marlon Sandro...obviously. Being the size of a WW probably helps with that.
Worst Power - Not very many light hitters, so I'll probably have to go with Joe Warren again.

Best Stamina- Michihiro Omigawa possibly, but this one isn't much of category IMO.
Worst Stamina - Marlon Sandro probably needs to move up in weight.

    Biggest Heart- Uriah Faber unquestionably.
Weakest Heart - Very hard to say, I'd go with Gambuyran if you put a gun to my head.

    LW

Best Striking - As for the application of striking in MMA, takedown defence included, BJ Penn. Technique + KO power allow him to win fights on the feet and his takedown defence allows him to stay there.
Worst Striking - Gray Maynard needs to stop it, he just needs to stop.

Best Wrestling - Tough, tough, tough. I'll go with Gray Maynard at this very moment though....basically bullied around the current champion and still hasn't lost a fight, especially when he decides to smother guys.
Worst Wrestling- Kenny couldn't take down a stack of legos. Takedown defense is decent but far from good. BJJ games makes up for it.

    Best Jiu-Jitsu- BJ Penn....obviously
Worst Jiu-Jitsu- Gray Maynard is another wrestler incapable of actually doing something once he gets on the ground.

Best Chin - I don't think BJ Penn has been rocked like, ever.
Worst Chin - Shinya Aoki obviously...

Best Power - Melvin Guillard is pretty damn devastating when he lands, but this might actually go to journeyman Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett if he even counts as a fighter.
Worst Power - Frankie Edgar just edges out Tyson Griffin for the title of who hits most like a girl.

Best Stamina- I'm starting to question whether or not Clay Guida has that much cardio legitimately or just drinks 7 Red Bulls before every fight.
Worst Stamina - Unfortunately this is STILL BJ Penn....

Biggest Heart - Eddie Alvarez will go to war with anyone, take their best shot and still come out victorious.
Weakest Heart - Shinya Aoki wins this easily, it's only a question of whether he takes the P4P Bitch title from GSP and Gary Goodridge.

    WW

Best Striking - GSP can essentially apply his wide array of skills to outstrike anyone he chooses. Have it not for his poor chin and his puny heart, he probably would kick a lot of guys asses on the feet like he did Matt Hughes, Jon Fitch, etc.
Worst Striking - Ben Askren basically attempts to not embarrass himself long enough to not get hit and grab a single.

Best Wrestling - Ben Askren as much as I loathe him, as stepped up his wrestling game and is definitely a danger to anyone competing in the division for the next decade.
Worst Wrestling - Paul Daley's wrestling is downright comical.

Best Jiu-Jitsu - Nick Diaz right now, can pull subs equally well from top or bottom and it is often a pretty big deterrent for opponents that usually prefer standing with him.
Worst Jiu-Jitsu- Paul Daley basically can't do anything besides hit people.

Best Chin - Chris Lytle obviously, still despite going out there every fight to take the other guys head off and win a FOTN or KOTN bonus, he still has onl been stopped once by a cut.
Worst Chin - GSP I hear even gets rocked in sparring...and it shows, because he's become an incredible coward trying to protect it.

Best Power - Fortunately Paul Daley does have a saving grace, face breaking punching power.
Worst Power - Ben Askren is a given, he can't even throw a proper punch.

Best Stamina - GSP definitely has all the PHYSICAL tools to be one of the best ever.
Worst Stamina - Anthony Johnson usually is in trouble if the fight lasts more than 40 seconds.

Biggest Heart- Diego certainly doesn't quit, although he at times is overmatched, he gets the nod for being of the guys who doesn't just try to survive when being battered.
Weakest Heart - GSP's microscopic heart makes me sad.

    MW

Best Striking - Anderson Silva for now....
Worst Striking - Dan Miller needs to get a new occupation.

Best Wrestling - Chael Sonnen for obvious reasons at this point.
Worst Wrestling - Dan Miller, offensively he struggles getting even basic wrestlers down, and defensively he doesn't need it because people would rather exploit his non-existent striking. However, when facing a guy like Demian Maia, who we all know sucks at takedowns, he still can't defend them.

Best Jiu-Jitsu - Jacare has the strength to be a more effective top control sub artist in my opinion than Demian Maia. Freak strength allows the Arm-Triangle and kimura, and other subs that Maia doesn't look for.
Worst Jiu-Jitsu - Hard to say but I'd go with Henderson. Dan is pretty hilarious off his back, and is nothing more than a grinder on top much like any other lay and prayer who doesn't even attempt to pass.

Best Chin - Chris Leben walks through bombs like they were firecrackers.
    Worst Chin - Jorge Santiago.....*sigh*

Best Power - Might be Hector Lombard right now, he's just freakish punching power and physical strength. Huge slams, huge punches pretty much take anyone out of there in a hurry.
Worst Power - Dan Miller or Demian Maia both apply here.

Best Stamina - Mayhem Miller doesn't even have a gas tank.
Worst Stamina - Akiyama's stamina is embarrassing to be honest.

Biggest Heart - Mayhem Miller again, good luck trying to finish the guy.
Worst Heart - Thales Leites.......which is pretty much why he's not in the UFC right now.

    Phew almost done!

    LHW

Best Striking - Shogun just took out the guy who was thought to have this title, and arguably beat him twice. Shogun gets the nod here for a lethal combination of technique, power and durability.
Worst Striking - Tito couldn't outstrke a heavy bag.

Best Wrestling - Wow, that one is almost unanswerable. I'd give the ever so slightest of edges to King Mo based on explosiveness and physical strength.
Worst Wrestling - WTF Mousasi? Seriously?

Best Jiu-Jitsu - I'd give Babalu the slight edge unless Arona comes back on form.
Worst Jiu-Jitsu - I really question if Rampage STILL doesn't know BJJ after like a decade in the game.

Best Chin - Gotta give it to Shogun, Rampage is a close second but he's been knocked out before, so I'll give it to Shogun narrowly.
Worst Chin - I question whether some people on Fightbeat could KO Jardine or not if they were to land on him in a fight and sadly I'm leaning towards yes.

Best Power - Rampage still has that murderous punching power and brute strength, edges Shogun just for having more one punch KO power.
    Worst Power - Tito....Nuff Said.

Best Stamina - Rashad's is pretty damn good, I'll give it to him just because no one else really screams out at me.
Worst Stamina - Mo Lawal probably...I think he'll correct this in the future though.

Biggest Heart - Shogun. Would've been Rampage depending on when you asked, but his fighting heart is almost completely gone now. Hamill also is another contender.
Weakest Heart - No one jumps out of me. LHW is pretty much bitch free. Not sure if Soakajew is still at LHW but if so he gets it.

    HW

Best Striking - Overeem by far.
Worst Striking - I wouldn't trust Brock Lesnar to hit the mitts if I was holding for him.

Best Wrestling - Eh, Brock Lesnar maybe....Cain is up there too.
Worst Wrestling - Frank Mir put on all that muscle for nothing.

    Best Jiu Jitsu- Werdum easily....
Worst Jiu Jitsu- Bum Rogers basically bends over and takes it once you get him on the deck.

Best Chin - At the moment Mike Russow looks like the immovable object, we'll see down the line though, otherwise Roy Nelson has to be up there too.
Worst Chin - Andre Arlovsky challenging for the P4P title in this particular subject.

Best Power - Might be Shane Carwin, JDS has good punching power too. Hard to say.
Worst Power - Most HWs hit pretty hard...Big Nog slightly edges Cain, just because Cain was able to KO him.

Best Stamina - Cain has the cardio of a LW.
Worst Stamina - Oh god, Carwin, Ben Rothwell...so many choices, so hard to choose.

Biggest Heart - Big Nog even though his punch resistance is gone.
Weakest Heart - If I was continuing my trend of only putting fighters worth a damn in the "Worst" categories(Otherwise I'd just be naming complete cans) I'd go with Bum Rogers, but Gary Goodridge just epitomizes the category. Yes he is a can, but he's such a disgrace to the sport that most people wonder if he's going to actually complete a fight rather than win or lose it. He strips Aoki of the biggest bitch in the sport title if he, god forbid is still fighting.

not sure which rock you've been living under but the WEC hasn't had a MW division in quite a while. Filho doesn't fight in the WEC either and hasn't since his loss to Sonnen over two years ago.

What the hell is with the GSP hate? When has he shown no heart? Are you basing this just on the Sera fight?

Kimbo or Pudz both have far worse stamina than Carwin or Rothwell.

    LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION

    Best striking: BJ.

    Best Wrestling: Sherk

Best Jiu Jitsu: Maybe BJ. His omoplata on GSP was pretty sick

Best Chin: BJ. Never been down and he fought Machida, among others.

    Best Power: Probably Gomi.

Best Stamina: Probably Sherk. He doesn't get tired.

Biggest Heart: Hard to say. Diego Sanchez never gave up against BJ and he took a real asswhupping.

Obviously, and the fact that he shameless admits to fighting like a bitch, and then goes on about how he wants to retire soon after he reaps the benefits of being a superstar, just leaving outright in his prime because he's afraid of getting hit. :boohoo:

GSP doesn't fight like a bitch. He neutralizes strengths and shuts people down. If that's your definition of fighting like a bitch, I guess there's not much left to say.

If he retired right now he will have beaten anyone in the UFC at WW that matters. He's basically fighting rematches at this point because he's cleaned the division out.

I'm not sure what more you can expect from him.

While i dont agree he is a bitch or with TLC on this issue, I think TLC is referring to when GSP said that he fights cautiously. He doesnt take the risks others take.

The point of being a dominant champion is taking all comers and beating them. There's always guys out there to fight. Anderson supposedly cleaned out his division 2 years ago and just got his ass kicked.

GSP is a coward, and hilariously even admits to being a coward. He admitted to fighting every fight taking the least chances as possible, content to grind out decisions and go for safe subs that he sucks at, and he admitted to being scared of BJ Penn in their first fight. He admitted to being afraid of Alves.

And of course Serra punched him a few times, and he crumbled to the canvas and tapped out like a little bitch because he didn't want to get hit anymore.

I hope Koscheck knocks GSP the fuck out brutally, and GSP retires afterward.

I really want to like GSP, and I did for many years when he was knocking fools out and battering them.

But I just find that pure wrestling style he's been using for the last couple of years so bloody unwatchable... he's no bitch, but he's awful to watch.

It's true: most people just don't find wrestling and top control very interesting. I admire him as a tactician, but I would rather see standup battles as well. Unfortunately standup is only one part of the game and he just happens to be much better at another part which is not nearly as eyecatching and pulsepounding.

Even if he took people down and pounded them, it would be more interesting (like Tito many years ago or Heath Herring). Unfortunately, he doesn't do that, and it can get a bit dry at times.

Still, he's one of the best, and he's a classy-seeming guy.

Good list, but I like Maynard as best wrestling and Guida for Stamina.
