Why should he wait on the winner? Cotto's next two fights are already scheduled. You know he'll go against Clottey and you know he's doing MSG for the Puerto Rican Day Celebration.
I don't think Arum has any plans on working with Floyd anytime too soon, and vice versa. If Hatton wins, then DLH is supposed to fight him, although I don't think DLH ever makes 147 again.
For a fight with Oscar Cotto would glady move to 154. Hell if Oscar wanted to fight a bantamweight at 160 they would do their damndest to make the weight.
Agreed, I think almost any guy will move up in weight for a chance at the payday and exposure with Oscar.
Arum claims Hatton has no business in the ring with Floyd. so I guess he assumes Floyd will come out victorious. I think Arum is avoiding Floyd for his next fight. He claims Floyd wants nothing to do with Cotto.:: I think he would rather schedule something first. So the fight with Floyd won't even be an issue. I can understand the DLH fight. But how did Clottey get in the picture for big fights? He is a good fighter but has beaten nobody to be Cotto's next oponent. Unless it's his mandatory. According to Arum if they can't land the DLH fight for May. It will be Clottey in March and Margarito in June for the PR parade weekend. I still don't get how Clottey became a possible next oponent.:dunno:
because Arum promotes him and he gave margarito a tough fight, and beat the hell out of Corrales. he's a credible challenger and a win over him will be meaningful in most people's eyes, especially a KO win or a dominant one. plus it is a nice seque way to a margarito fight, since margarito's already fought clottey and looked less than stellar against him.
