    IMO the biggest boxing idol Puerto Rico ever had. When he lost to Sanchez, the next day felt like a national mourning, a general sense of depression permeated the atmosphere in the streets and everywhere, people talking about the fight in whispers just like in a funeral. Tito was a big idol too, but when he lost to Hopkins, it was business as usual. Gomez turned into an arrogant prick after the Zarate fight. Using drugs and not training like he used to was his downfall. He still holds the All Time record of 17 title defenses all won by KO.
