Thomas Miller gave the last three rounds to Margarito...criminal, IMO. I also think scoring 8 of the first 9 for Williams is borderline criminal. I had it 115-113 for Williams. Miller probably just gave the 12th to Margarito to make it look closer. The 12th was clear for Paul and having Williams ahead 89-82 after 9 is
I agree, I had the same scorecard and round 12 was clearly a make up round. It's absolutely atrocious a judge could be that far off in a championship fight.
Margarito won 3 of the first 5 rounds on my card. A lot of William's shots were indeed blocked. And lots of times, he'd land 1-2 clean shots the whole round. And all HBO kept talking about was how many punches Williams was throwing. Since when does that matter for shit? And as early as round 2 Williams was holding everytime Margarito got close.
It was a close fight, and a high workrate is a component of aggression, so I don't have a problem with Williams edging out the win,... but this sort've stuff:... "Bye Bye Tony!"...."Williams fucken kicked his arse!"..."Where's dat Floyd hatin bitch at!"..."I never was impressed with Margarito bandwagon!"
