Looks like another schooling for Cintron.

meh...I don't think williams is capable of "schooling" anyone, he's not that good. I wasn't impressed with him against Margarito, Cintron has progressed to the point where if Williams cruises past him, I would have to concede that I was wrong...doubt it though

Cintron hasn't improved much since Margarito despite the fact that his last bunch of opponents have a very similar style as Margarito does.

He went life and death with David Estrada. I don't see him beating Williams.

probably the only way he beats Williams is the only way anyone beats him - by knocking him out.

good fight if it does happen. I would have to pick Williams simply because He is more skilled and knows how to use his reach with that height advantage.

Funny thing is that cintron claimed that the win over Mathyse should erase what happened against Margarito

The day Cintron beats Margarito is the day I will give him credit for improving. And beating another oponent in whatever fashion has nothing to do with what Margarito did to him which was basically humiliate him.

Another thing is that people are banking on this improvement by Cintron since he hooked up with Steward. I think Steward is shot as a trainer so forget that plan.

Cintron always has a punchers chance but that is all. Against someone as big as him with better skills he has less of a chance.

Cintron is going to KHTFO. Williams throws too many punches. He will allow Cintron a opening and it will be lights out. Unless Williams turns into a defensive genius he's done.

PBF would decision Williams, wouldn't be easy, but he'll do it. Put it this way...it'll be a harder fight for Williams than it would be for PBF.

    Anyway...to the topic.

I like Williams by close decision in this one.

    Sly...

We're cool and all, but this is a legendary post for you. I've never seen a post where literally EVERYTHING you've said has been 100% off-base.

Normally, you're wrong with a hint of correctness. The post above is completely devoid of wisdom, insight and accuracy.

i disagree. i have a hard time envisioning PBF's decisioning Williams. maybe he does. but it wouldn't be my pick. but we both know PBF ain't going near Williams (or Cintron for that matter).

I don't think Williams is that good and his volume punching won't work against a more confidence Cintron.

The one thing Cintron can do that Margarito couldn't is throw straight punches. I can see Cintron catching Williams with a straight right hand and his lights go out.

Believe it or not, Cintron is much improved from the guy we saw against Margarito a few years back. Kermit is probably remains a mental midget, but I firmly believe his association with Steward and being in camp with Andy Lee and Jermain Taylor has better prepared him for welterweights.

I have a feeling that Cintron is similar to Golota in the sense that if you put him in with a guy whose power doesn't scare him, he looks like an all-time great. Put him in with a banger, he tucks tail and fights like a coward. Williams isn't physically stronger nor does he punch on the same level as Cintron.

whether Cintron wins or not, it's gonna be sick to see the shots he lands on Williams.

This is a Fight that NEEDS to B Made...

Instead of WAITING for Floyd-Hatton & Shane-Cotto to Fight & PLAN their Next Moves, these 2 Cats R Looking to BOLSTER their Own Status @ Welter...

In a Division w/4 DIFFERENT "World Titles", Posessing 2 of them is HUGE...It Makes U an UNDENIABLE "Entity" w/in the Division...An UNAVOIDABLE "Entity" w/in the Division...

REED Applauds Kermit Cintron, Paul Williams AND their Respective Camps for TAKING this Fight:clap: ...The Winner will DEFINITELY have SOME Degree of "Bargaining Power" in ANY 147lb Contract Negotiations...MUCH MORE "Pull" than Either of them CURRENTLY have...

& this Fight will Answer MOST of the Remaining Questions that Boxing Fans have about BOTH Fighters...

Is Cintron REALLY Restored from the Loss to Margarito???...He's Looked Pretty Good Thus Far, Looked AWESOME in his Last Fight & Paul Williams is JUST the Guy to Provide the ANSWER to that Question...

Is Williams' Chin REALLY as Good as it's Looked Thus Far???...He's BARELY Appeared Hurt in Any Fight, NEVER Been Badly Wobbled or Dropped & STILL Maintains his OUTRAGEOUS Workrate REGARDLESS what he Gets hit w/...Kermit Cintron is JUST the Guy to FULLY Answer the Remaining Questions about Williams' Chin...

It's Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay Tooooooooo Early for REED to Make an OFFICIAL Prediction on this 1...But On 1st Thought, REED can See Williams Winning a Decision, Somewhat SIMILAR to How Ike Quartey Outpointed Jose Luis Lopez...

Ike CLEARLY Won the Fight, yet Got FLOORED Twice & FLIRTED w/Getting STOPPED...RIGHT NOW, That's How REED Sees Williams-Cintron Playing Out...

Fans have quickly snatched onto the Paul Williams bandwagon and seem to now be underrating Kermit Cintron. He's no great fighter, but it's this simple: he can punch HARD with either hand and Williams gets hit ALOT...and FLUSH. Cintron stands a great chance of knocking Williams out.

    It's a very interesting fight.

Williams is a nightmare style matchup for Mayweather.

I think Mayweather is an easier (or less difficult) fight for Williams than Cintron is.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kermit takes Williams out.

Yep. But Williams is the much more relaxed fighter in there... wouldn't shock me to see him beat Kermit on points if he doesn't get caught with a KO shot. I can't wait to see it.

Yeah, thats basically how I see it. If Williams is standing @ the end, he'll win. But there's nothing close to a guarantee that he will be.

Most of the guys on this thread seem to think of this as easy money for Williams. I don't see it. Not at all.

Musze and Tam - that's fair enough, but are you not overlooking how well Williams took Marge's shots?

OK Marge is not a monster puncher, but his power is decent, look at the Cintron fight.

Williams is clearly tougher than he looks, I really doubt he is getting taken out with 1 shot.

I think the safe bet is Williams by UD.

Williams is a decent prospect, but he still hasn't beaten a live body (guys like Sharmba Mitchell and Antonio Margarito are hardly worth a mention)
Cintron, on the other hand, is a total bum.
So, between a decent prospect and a bum, I pick a prospect.

Both of these guys are a little too unproven and unknown enough to make a totally accurate prediction. Few people have seen the "new" Cintron, and Williams is still a question mark as far as durability is concerned.

Although I think Williams looked hurt to the body by Margarito in their fight, I think he should be able to do the same thing to Cintron that he did to Margarito.

So I'd say Williams by UD.

You make some very good points. I wouldnt be at all surprised to see Kerm stretch Williams. However, whilst Williams isnt a big puncher, he's not a feather-fist either. He hit hard enough to stun Margarita a few times, but Margarita has a very solid chin, much better than Cintron's. I think Williams hits hard enough to hurt Cintron, and we KNOW the reverse is true cause Cintron hits hard enough to hurt any welterweight big time. Its definitely a fight that NEEDS to happen!
