These two are calling eachother out on Fightnews. So after Cintron KO's this bum on the Vargas-Mayorga UC, it makes sense that he steps up and fights Williams after. Paul I'm sure is willing to do it, lets see if Cintron & Manny Steward are willing to make the fight. Cause Cintron would actually have a good chance of KOing Williams.
agREED... it's just a matter of, who will finance it? Golden Boy is involved in every remaining PPV for 2007. HBO's budget is tapped out. Maybe Showtime - but they'll first ask how such a fight benefits Gary Shaw
I could see Showtime picking it up. I just wanna see it, and I'm confident we will, sometime in early in 08 probably.
I hope so. It'd be a nice way for Showtime to start off their 2008 campaign. Then again, it'd be a nice way for HBO to start off it's 2008 as well. IMO, a perfect B.A.D. headliner
Cintron is with Main Events. Shaw hasn't done business with them since he bolted in '02. Williams is with Goossen. Not sure if the beef is between Shaw and Dan, or involving Fred (who used to do PR work for Goossen's old company America Presents). Whatever the case, they don't seem to do much business, if any at all. So, no, I don't see Uncle Gary giving his blessings. Not unless they leave a generously stuffed envelope by his minorha come holiday season.
These two NEED to fight. All the other big fights are made at WW and these two are definitely the smaller potatoes of the group. Jake is so right that it would be a perfect BAD main event. From what it sounds like Showtime won't make it.:flip:
you mean ShawTime they just have a cozy relationship. Gary was a significant stakeholder in the birth of ShoBox, maybe that's where it began.
