The April 11th clash between two-division world champion Paul “The Punisher” Williams and former jr middleweight titlist Winky Wright at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas was officially announced today. The bout will be fought at middleweight. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been this motivated and I can’t wait until the bell rings,” said Wright. “Paul is one of the top young fighters in the game, but he hasn’t seen what I’ve seen or done what I’ve done. This is my time to shine and I won’t let this young fighter steal my spotlight.” Williams stated, “I am glad that the fight is on. This fight has got a big name. Wright has taken the titles from champions and I’d love to take his reputation. That would add to my legacy. All I know is that everyone says he has got a good defense and nice jab but that doesn’t matter to me - I’m going to get mine in. I’m gonna whoop him and get in there.” Tickets priced at $300, $200, $150, $100 and $50 go on sale Friday at 10AM at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations.

Ok let's move on and talk about this fight. Who you got? I personally think Williams will outpoint Wright. I don't think Wright has the power to bother Williams.

    Thought's?

Inactivity + bigger fighter with a higher workrate=KO Loss

Stopped but not layed out, although that would be great to see.:cheer:

I forgot to add age. Winky is pushing 40 now. The Hopkins fight was almost 2 years ago!

Winky is inactive and old. That to me means that he loses for sure.......and probably gets stopped by the punisher.

Wright will have his guard up, get punched through the guard 1000 times, and everyone will talk about how brilliant he is defensively

I thought the Jermain Taylor fight already shattered his defensive guru myth?

Wright's defense hasn't slipped. It's only as he's gotten older, he's decided to be more offensive and less defensive which is about as retarded an idea as you can get. Anyway I hope Wright gets turned into a mop and goes away somewhere never to be heard from again. His fights are sloppy as shit since he's turned into an offensive guy and he makes me sick watching him.

$300 ringside. Is that including the numbergirls sitting in your lap.

I wonder who will pay for such a seat, when you could buy a $50 and just be moved up on fight night.

If your basing that on the Hopkins fight,.. then yes he was 'unusually aggressive',.. but he had to be,.. reason being is that close to the beginning of every round,.. Hopkins would land a weak little flurry with Winky's guard up, then our beloved Hopkins spent the rest of the round SPRINTING away,.. Wright knew he had to run after him wrecklessly and land SOMETHING before the round ended, or they would give it to the piece of shit,..to which they did.

Ahhh the wonders,.. any other time in reality you can take two men, and distinguish who is larger based on the distinction of thier greater geometrical mass in height and breadth,.. but in boxing, you can be much shorter and much scrawnier, and still get labelled the 'bigger man'.
