It would be enough for both to surpass Bernard Hopkins...at least on my list.

    Good question.

Winky's racked up an impressive amount of names. Throw Hopkins in the mix and they all have one thing in common - most were well past their prime.

Props to Wink for beating Sugar Shane twice but Tito and Ike don't do it for me. Would a Hopkins victory push him ahead of Floyd? I think that depends on how Hopkins looks.

No man that has lost to Fernando Vargas, controversial or not (it was close enough that a significant percentage of people thought Nando won), has any Wright (Pun intended) to be placed Higher than the undefeated Floyd in the Mythical P4P rankings!!!!!!!

Public opinion on that fight and Mayweather-Castillo I aren't that far apart to where Wright should be overly penalized b/c of it 8 years later.

Winky didn't exactly have a path carved out for him once he turned pro, either - not saying Mayweather was protected, but there was a bit more trial and error involved in Wright's career - but that shouldn't count against the version of the Wink as it exists in 2007.

    Oh yeah?

Winky..lost to Vargas, drew with Taylor, lost to Simon, lost to that Argie....thats some amassing right there. The Tito he beat had even less left than Oscar. He beat Mosley. Thats it.

Oh shit...I forgot the Indomitable Lions that were...Bronco McKart, Adrian Dodson and Ensley Bingham.

P4P really is a defunct term.

We don't..just on the "amassing of names" point.

    Amassing...maybe.

    Names...possibly.

    Losing...defintely.

But he was the underdog in the first Mosley fight, the Tito fight and now the Hopkins fight.

Clearly he's better than what the general public thought. But how much stock do you put in those victories?

I've got Pacquiao #1 P4P, so the obvious answer is "no."

Let's just say that if Winky beat Hopkins it would be a bigger win than any in Floyd's career.

    no.

and if winky is forced to use reyes gloves i would certainly put hopkins as the favorite at 170lbs.

Yes, because the guy he will have beaten is a better and more highly regarded fighter at this time than the guy Mayweather just beat.
