Diaconu fucked up Hoye pretty good in three rounds. Impressive performance. Unfortunately Hoye got bloodied badly or Diaconu could have bounced him around a bit more. I say he earned himself s date on Showtime in the near future.
Diaconu is a hard hitter, I'd like to see his next fight as it should be for a title Reminded me of Leo Dorin when he came on the scene against Martin OMalley..... but more explosive
Indeed One thing Dawson could do different than Hoye is use his height and reach, he'd need to be more active and have his hands up
Hoye was wiped out. Several years ago I thought Rico could develop into perhaps another Marvin Johnson type of Light Heavyweight great, but it was not to be.
Diaconu almost all the time comes straight in and likes to jump in with shots on a bigger opponent, especially the left hook, which will lead to disaster sooner or later Hoye never had both hands up, and he'd give up too much reach and even gave up his height, a huge no no for a taller, rangier fighter..... I was hoping to see some straight rights with meaning to them...... he never got Diaconu's respect
Yes Sir!!! Dawson is good but he better tighten up on his "D". I hope the WBC gives this guy his chance and don't side step him for Tarver!:notallthere: The people want to see Dawson/Diaconu and he's earned it.........:bears:
Yep, it was an impressive performance by Diaconu. I thought Hoye's would be able to use his more compact punching to time him between his wide shots but Hoye couldn't do anything to stop the pitbull. It was Diaconu's best performance to date. I've never been very impressed by him but last night I was pleasantly surprised. Props to him. And for the one that said it reminded him the O'malley Dorin fight, I agree. 2 tall lanky supposed puncher agaisnt two short stocky romanian with a huge amateur background get humiliated on ESPN when they're supposed to shine. Gotta love that.:bears:
