http://site.wcbo.org/content/index_en.html Finally, a place where the Klitschkos and Lennox can settle their chess and boxing scores at the same time. ::
I've told Ugo the same thing and he didn't believe me. One of the reasons I despise Quitkoes is that they pretend to be something they aren't. The fake Ph.Ds and the "playing chess" part pisses me off to no end. They don't play chess. They know how to move pieces around, that's it. I can claim I'm a marathone runner, then, since I know how to run....
Some claim those are simply honorary degrees, that Wlad was way to young to have finished university, especially with his commitment to sports, which in Europe usually draws out graduation.
Things were a little different in the soviet era. It's not like they got their PhD in astrophysics. Wlad's PhD is, in essence, someone who examines the structure and ability of a child and decides which sport to pursue, while Vitali's is someone who takes that kid and develps their body to perfectly suit that particular sport. They aren't doctors in the way that we see fit, but are considered legitimate in the eyes of a Communist nation....despite the fact that they aren't treated very well (China's "doctors").
Of course they were honorary degrees, can anyone imagine or remember when the Klitschkos devoted 2-5 years conducting research in sport science and writing/publishing 40-50,000 word theses? Its meaningless but its seems to annoy dymipepel no end, so I'm all for them being offered professorships at the university of kiev...
Ukraine isnt communist any more and wasnt when they obtained their phd:doh::doh: And of course they are bullshit degrees, it takes commitment to obtain a phd, and in no way is it possible to obtaine one ( in a program that isnt a joke) at such a young age while being a professionnal athlete at the same time
My ex-girlfriend went back to university and was given a quicker path through her masters to the phd program and it still took her 6 to 7 years and that was after 4 years of university for her undergrad bachelors. So that was 10 to 11 years altogether and she was fast tracked. It don't come quickly.
