Ruslan Chagaev battles Fres Oquendo for the vacant WBA belt. Chagaev was good five years ago and three years ago he still gave a good fight to Povetkin. He hasn't done anything since but he has an eternal right to fight for WBA belt if he wants to. As for Oquendo, I had no idea that he is still fighting. What is funny about him is that out of his seven losses he has been robbed in all five decision defeats and his stoppage loss against Ruiz was bogus too. Nobody complains though, since Oquendo if anyone deserves to get robbed As for the WBA title, I had no idea that it has been vacated, by Wlad I guess. Picks?
No idea. Apparently since Wlad took Povetkin's regular WBA title, they split the crown up again. In the light heavy they also have too champions (Brähmer and Hopkins). In fact, a couple of years ago they had FOUR simultaneous middleweight champions (super, unified, regular and interim) and countless 'smaller' titles in addition ::
wow, you know the Hw are terrible, when old, got koed by Tua and Ruiz in his prime a decade ago, washed up Oquendo gets robbed in a title fight
It tells more about guys getting chance to fight for a bogus title. Not saying your are necessarily wrong, but this bout tells as much about the level of Hw as the title fight between Francois Botha and Axel Schultz told about the level of the 90s
WTF During the fight, the President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, entered the ring and gave instructions to Chagaev. The ref, nor coach Sdunek, did anything:atu:
he was 'sparring' with Chagaev, helping him to prepare several days ago. He's one of the more fucked up and brutal of Putin's puppets on that side of the world, Not surprised everyone sat back and allowed it to happen.
Seriously. Just read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramzan_Kadyrov#Accusations_of_human_rights_abuses He's also in favour of honor killings. Just an all round nice guy ::
Dude is 10x crazier than Putin. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/kCRykGBb5ME" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
