A.K.A. the WORST Ref in Boxing::

 

Eddie Cotton.

 

Both are pretty bad, so bad in fact I don't want to have to pick ONE of them if you know what I mean.

Jay nady's BLOWN KD call in the Barrera-Marquez fight is INEXCUSABLE (as well as his missed Vargas low blows, and penalizing Tito for NON low blows in their fight)!!!!

I'll have to vote for Nady.

Wasn't he also the ref who BLEW the call for the CLEAR KD of Morales over Barrere in their second fight?? That KD cost Morales the fight....which I thought he won anyay.

 

Cortez with Nady a close second. I actually used to like Nady but he's been acting like a damn rock star in the ring since the Jones/Ruiz fight.

They're on opposite extremes. Cortez lets certain fighters perform simulated sex in the ring while Nady tries to see how many times he can break up the action before said fighters actually start throwing punches at each other on the inside.

I like to see Nady if somebody like Ruiz or Hatton is fighting but otherwise keep his face off TV.

 

Sure,Nady SUCKS,but @ Least he's CONSISTENT...

Joe Cortez is like that Box of Chocolates that Forrest Gump Used to Talk About...U NEVER Know what U're going to Get w/him...

Case in Point,Pac-Marquez & MichalSHITski-Griffin...Cortez Ref'ed Both Bouts...

Pac Beats the Living SHIT Out of Marquez N Round1, Dropping him 3 Times, Shattering his Nose & Leaving him Laying on his BACK after the 3rd Knockdown...

NOBODY Would've Blamed Cortez for STOPPING that Bout Right then...

"However", During MichalSHITski-Griffin (A Fight Montell was WINNING,by the Way), Griffin is BADLY Hurt, Staggering about, NEVER Touches the Canvas even 1nce, yet Cortez PREMATURELY Stopped it...

It was apparent that marquez wasn't done, the two fights were completely different situations. That doesn't speak to "inconsistency" it speaks more to versatility....

I agree that Cortez is a crappy ref...but not for those reasons.

Obviously,Marquez PROVED that the Fight SHOULDN'T Have Been Stopped,by the way he Performed N the Ensuing 11 rounds...REED Isn't Arguing AGAINST That...

Lawrence Cole is pretty bad.

I forget the ref's name, but he's the old white guy who repeatedly berated a couple fighters and the sound man clearly caught him telling the fighters they were "awful" and "terrible."

I'm fairly certain it's a Califormia ref, but I can't recall his name.

 

The refs I HATE more than anyone else, are theones who repeatedly BLOW KD calls and fouls.

They make me sick!!

 

that guy who reffed Cotto-Corley. Frank Cappuccino during his later years was terrible too.

Steele and Nady are tied 1a. & 1b., respectively. Cortez was HORRIBLE Sat night.

 

The referee for Roberto Duran-Davey Moore (forget his name) should have had his license revoked on sight.

 

the ref who allowed Sim to bash Hatakeyama was pretty bad. Same w/ Whitaker-Hurtado.

 

Cortez is a better ref, IMO. But its not saying much. Nady is one of the worst officials in a sport, filled with suspect men and women.
