For me Cloud Atlas. Fucking trash. Starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry brought to you by the writers of The Matrix.

Never watched that one. Probably Waterworld for me. Wasn't that the most expensive ever made when released?

Cloud Atlas wasn't that bad from the parts I saw. I think Pearl Harbor might be the worst one for me. I've seen some real stinkers like Jack the Giant Slayer, Wraith Of The Titans, and John Carter, but I think based on the hype and the budget, Pearl Harbor takes the title.

I didn't mind John Carter. A shame that a story that's been ripped off by so many stories got accused of being unoriginal.

Michael Bay´s complete resume....they´re all so similarly terrible that they end up blurring into one giant billion-dollar mess.

In fact I read the this years 5th Transformers movie has a budget of US$260 million.....wtf?

Word! I love John Carter and was upset that we will never get sequels based on the rest of the books because the movie bombed. Still it is a very entertaining film.

I think that the worst big budget film I watched was Ishtar with Warren Beatty & Dustin Huffman. Big. Pile. Of. Shit! Runner-up: Battlefield Earth John Travolta's career ending as an A-lister actor was boring beyond belief. Dishonorable mentions: Alexander and Catwoman

Credit where credit is due.... I think you found the real winner.

Waterworld was one of the biggest budget movies of the 90s, yet one of the worst movies ever made. So bad in fact, that it ended Costner's career as a megastar. He was arguably the biggest name in Hollywood prior to this POS.

Transformers might ultimately take the cake though. I'd actually rather sit through Waterworld than Transformers.

But being that Avatar is sooooo fuckin long it probably makes it the most unwatchable for me.

Waterworld was decent tbh. It went way over budget because the set got destroyed by a storm.

Avatar is trash and people praise it. I don't get it. Oh wow some floating mountains and a giant fucking tree.

John Carter is actually a good movie. I was surprised. My brother kept urging me to watch it and I was surprised when I finally did.

Cloud Atlas wasnt bad. I could see where they wanted to go and enjoyed the vision. But they just couldn't execute.

47 was pretty shit and i heard that movie cost lots of money to make.

I thought waterworld was alright, def not one of the worst films ever

battlefield Earth and heavens gate are probably strong contenders by all accounts tho ive never seen either

of those ive seen im gonna say man of steel off the top of my head (not having seen batman vs superman which looks even worse). That was astonishingly awful

Batman V Superman wasn't a bad movie. But it definitely didn't live up to its standard's. It was just okay, which ultimately was a disappointment considering the hype.

No, it wasn't terrific. I do think some critics rated it too harshly, because it had VERY lofty expectations to live up to. It was decent.

I liked where they were going with it but they took some sloppy shortcuts to get there and in the process compromised the art. For example...the Superman vs Batman fight came down to Lex kidnapping Clark's mother and blackmailing him to confront Batman. That's just lazy writing. Superman could have found his mother in two minutes by flying around the city at light speed and using his x ray vision. They should have given Superman a decent motive to fight Batman. Also there was no explanation regarding this meta humans thing. You can't just drop " metahumans" and then expect us to swallow it.

This "logic" simply does not compute.

I've said this to you before based on an observation: you just like to go against the grain. If something is popular you hate it and if it is heavily criticized you praise it.

There's been plenty of popular movies in history which were quality.

Avatar isn't one of them. It attained huge numbers based on being visually impressive, having a great marketing campaign, and the association with James Cameron who was still living off of his Titanic fame.

There's N A D A about the actual movie that's memorable. Please feel free to explain to us what was memorable about the actual storyline/plot/acting.

Can ANYBODY name a fuckin character from Avatar? I can't, and I saw it twice. I have a pretty long memory when it comes to movies.... if I've seen a movie more than once and can't recall ANY of the characters, in my mind it means it was a forgettable movie.

This isn't about you and me arguing over Avatar. That topic is done. This about me wondering how anyone can claim Waterworld is good while slamming Avatar. That's just ridiculous. It's also about me calling Joe King out on his tendency to deliberately go against the grain.

Jake Sully, Neteri (Sp?), Etukaan (Sp?), to name a few. But the beauty of Avatar isn't just in the CGI....it's in the Spirit of the film: Technology vs Spirit, Faith and courage. Big bad selfish humans with their apex technology and conquering spirit, trying to take advantage of the seemingly uncivilized locals and attempt to obliterate them in order to take their wealth...but faith and courage and the preservation of balance endures.

I feel sorry for all of you people that didn't "get it"....and just saw big blue aliens and floating mountains. It was a beautiful film with a beautiful story. It's like I've met many people that saw "Signs" from M Night Shylaman and came away thinking it was an Alien Invasion movie.

If you wanna have a "bad movie night" then Waterworld would probably be a fun viewing. The story and acting are so horrible that one can find it amusing and entertaining.

    Avatar is just boring.

It's a pretty subpar movie, which is fun in spots due to the above average action and at times entertaining because of how bad the acting is.

Is it THE worst movie ever? No. But considering it's enormous hype at the time, it fell flat on quality.

Avatar was decent and entertaining enough when I saw it in the theater. I knew nothing about the movie going in, and after about half an hour it was already obvious what was going to happen. Despite being unoriginal and cliche-ridden, the visual effects and seeing it in 3-D at the theatre made it fairly entertaining. Not something I care to see again, but I can't imagine it being worse than a movie like Howard the Duck, 50 Shades of Gray, or Twilight. I never saw that much of any Twilight film but I'm sure Avatar is superior to it.

Howard the Duck, my God that was an awful movie

I never saw The Adventures of Pluto Nash but I heard it was atrocious.

I think Avatar would have been more watchable if it was a 90-minute movie.

The fact that it was 3 hours made it unbearable. It didn't warrant being that long.

I think it was T2 when Cameron decided that visuals were much more important than scripts. I didn't realize as a little kid how cheesy and cliched some of that script was, although it was still a terrific sequel. So he did two of the most cliche-ridden scripts ever after that, which both had excellent visual effects, and they set box office records.

So it worked for him, but I think his movies prior to that were better.

And no, I can't name any character from Avatar either.
