Good fight I forgot about. Check it out. In general, Candelo was a very entertaining fighter with freakishly long arms.
Saw him over ten years ago in Baytown, Texas where he was working as a cable television installer and training at a gym there, nice guy.
A Finnish guy Jyri Kjall was an Olympic bronze medalist from '92 and got silver in world championships a year later. As a professional he was trained by Angelo Dundee. When he was 6-0 (6) or so, he fought an unknown Juan Carlos Garcia, who had just two fights under his belt. Garcia knocked him out in the first and Kjall never rose to championship level. As for Garcia, I saw him next years later. He was then called JC Candelo and fought Winky Wright
I was watching some highlights from the Jose Luis Castillo - Diego Corrales fight the other evening. When i was in Mexico years ago a cab driver I had was also named Jose. No relation that i'm aware of . Not sure if he followed boxing either as i didn't really speak to him much being it was a short ride.
