I'm not a sadist so I don't enjoy watching violence for violence's sake. But if forced to answer, I'd say Johnson/RJJ. Tarver/RJJ II was a brief one punch knock-out. In Johnson/RJJ, Johnson not only K RJJ TFO, but he won nearly every round with a strategy that nobody had previously employed against RJJ, giving doubt as to RJJ's supposed brilliance and invincibility, even in his prime.

Turns out fighting RJJ at mid-distance, staying low, hitting the body and the head, and moving your head, gives RJJ hell, makes it tough for him to pot-shot and feint.

Johnson is like the smartest fighter ever. For more than 15 years the best professional boxers around the world that fought Roy didn't realize that the way to beating Roy was fighting at mid-distance, staying low and hitting the body and the head! Then comes this brilliant mind and destroys the fraud. Shame on Hopkins and Toney for being too stupid and not realize this.

Riiiiight...Nobody EVERY PRESSURED Roy B 4:boohoo:....& Roy NEVER HURT Johnson to the Head OR Body N that Fight Either...

It's Amazing how your CONTEMPT or NUTHUGGERY of a Fighter Can BLIND U to what's ACTUALLY OCCURING N the Fucking Fight...

A PRIME Roy Jones WAXES Glencoffe Johnson, Dude...Suggesting Otherwise is Perhaps even DUMBER than when YOU Said WHOlio Gonzalez had the "Perfect Style" to BEAT Roy...

Johnson didn't just pressure RJJ. He kept a nice close distance but he wasn't burying himself in RJJ's chest. He moved his head and kept his jab going and gave angles. You tell me one RJJ fight where the oppponent's strategy and execution mirrored that of Johnson's.

Sure Johnson had to withstand some return fire. But he didn't allow himself to be intimidated by RJJ's speed. He stuck to his gameplan, giving movement from short distance, mixing up his shots, jabbing to the body and moving his head.

Name one other guy who did that.

Name Another Guy that had the ADVANTAGE of Facing Roy Jones 3 Months After a KO LOSS???....

The Johnson Fight was the BEGINNING of the Exclusively FLAT-FOOTED, Lay & Pray (on the Ropes) Version of Roy...Johnson's an AGGRESSIVE, but SLOTH Paced, Fairly INEPT Defensive Fighter who DOESN'T hit Nearly as Hard as Roy Made it Seem like he Does...

N Other Words, the Type of Guy that a PRIME Roy Jones would've DEVOURED...But Leave it to YOU to Act as if Johnson REinvented the Wheel or Something & Brought an Approach that Roy had Never Seen...

    BULLSHIT....

Did Pacquiao Present Something to DeLa that he'd NEVER Seen???...Of Course Not, DeLa was just Toooooo SHOT to Do Anything about It...

Hopkins was completely intimidated by RJJ's speed and tried to fence with him from a distance. He executed nothing close to Johnson's game plan.

Neither did Toney by the way.

I disagree. After having fought at 160 and 154, Pacquiao's speed, angles and foot-work were indeed something ODH had never seen.

How you ever considered in your ultra RJ biased mind that Johnson was able to execute his game plan BECAUSE Roy was shot?

Tex Cobb's fights are always a blast to watch because he gets DRILLED in the face almost constantly and never goes anywhere, so as a pure punching bag, he is a favorite of mine

in terms of favorite sadistic slaughters of guys I hated:

Marlon Starling KO9 Lloyd Honeyghan -- This is just beautiful as Starling carves him up with perfect counterpunching and thoroughly humbles him... always hated Honeyghan

Julio Cesar Chavez W12 Hector Camacho -- Even while running, Camaho absorbed a horrific beating in this one and it was wonderful to see, few have ever deserved it more... I give him credit though, he survived a mesmerizing thrashing, eating one right hand after another... Chavez just destroyed him

Roy Jones KO6 Vinny Pazienza -- probably the only time (outside of the Ruiz fight) where I rooted for Roy... sure it was a hideous mismatch, but it was fun anyway because Paz is a greasy, filthy guido and Jones just knocked the crap out of him

Bernard Hopkins KO12 Felix Trinidad -- I told anybody that would listen that Hopkins was going to outbox Trinidad and he did it in grand style-- in front of 20,000 ILLUMINATIs, CUPEY ALTOs, HEX-ONEs and one JAKE

Marvin Hagler TKO6 Tony Sibson -- nothing personal against Sibson, but I just enjoy this fight. Hagler's jab was awesome here and he cut Sibson to ribbons

Anyway, my favorite punching bag performance will always be RJ-Hall.

    Mosley-Margarita is a close second.

Fernando Vargas. I truly enjoyed each beating that arrogant cunt received. Mosley just added a new name to the pantheon of punching bags: Antonio Margacheato. That beating was the most enjoyable I have ever watched. And while I despised him while he was in his prime and was glad he was send to retirement once and for all, I did not particularly enjoyed watching Sugar Ray Leonard getting beaten by Hector Camacho. The guy was already a legend and should had stayed retired instead of getting this brutal raping.

I loooved Hopkins knockdowns against Mercado,.. in mid-air, the crook had that 'crying / complaining' face he often gives referees, before his arse hit the floor,.. sorry scumbag, there's nothing illegal about a flush uppercut, unlike your entire style,.. - that fight was a pivotal point in Hopkins career,.. as I dont think he ever came forwards and tried to overwelm an opponent ever, ever again,.. no matter how small they were.

I also like the 7th round of Floyd Castillo 1,.. and the remainder of the fight after Drakulich took Fraud's elbow away, it was beauuuutiful,...Fraud held is hands up and looked FROZEN, not fighting, just pissing himself, it was like as if all his 'gameplans' came crashing down,..- he easily lost the remainder of the fight,......and his post fight excuse was a classic,.. "Two broken arms, 10 broken ribs, a puntured lung....".. EXPOOOOOOOSED.

Gatti/Gamache - brutal beating. Gamache was hurt by every punch that bloated Gatti hit him with. And the final knock-out was picturesque.

Where have I said that? I don't think he did. But there's no doubt he received a beating.

Well the "theme" of this thread was originally fighters you enjoy watching get beat up. You brought up Roy, so you were on track. Now you bring up Gamache? Is he your favorite punching bag?

oh. i guess from reading the last few posts i did get off track. for example, i can't recall Hall taking any beatings like the one he caught from RJJ.

Gatti was basically a punching bag if you think about it. At the height of his fame, even in fights he won, he'd catch a beating everytime. Guys like Robinson, Manfredy, Rodriguez, Baldomir, ODH, Hutchinson, and Ward, win or lose, they beat the shit out of Gatti. So he makes the list. No?
