I'm asking for two to make it interesting as I imagine Toy Story will take one of the spots...

I really enjoyed Wall-E, which surprised me (I didn't expect to).

I liked the Rugrats movie as well, but I always liked that show.

Spongebob Squarepants, Beavis & Butthead, and a few others were disappointing relative to the best of the TV shows

Toy Story doesn't make it for me.

    The Lion King
    The Secret of Nymn

Heads and shoulders above the rest for my money....

I couldn't go past the first two Toy Story movies. I find animated films, generally, extremely annoying distractions.

Ninja Scroll is #1 for me
after that it's a 3 way tie between the Incredibles, Kung Fu Panda, and Monsters Inc.

AH..I forgot about the Incredibles and Ninja Scroll.

I'd place Incredibles above Nymn..solid # 2. Ninja scroll is top 3 for sure.

    Ah...another couple nice editions.

IMO most of these mentioned are better than Toy Story.

Incredibles was incredible (Pun intended). Forget animated movie...you'd scarcely find a better superhero flick, period.

shout out to studio ghibli's canon: mononoke, spirited away, pom poko, my neighbours the yamadas, and the soul-scorchingly sad grave of the fireflies.

a lot of the pixar stuff is excellent, really consistent.

Newer animated films (well from '95-now), toy story and kung fu panda, are very good, but not a patch on the older animated films, such as (robin hood 1973 and pinocchio 1940)

    agreed.

Lion King and Fox and the hound are superior to all the animated films these days IMO.

I didn't like Lion King all that much. It was good but not as great as people made it out to be. I think it's that little sh*t Jonathan Taylor Thomas doing Simba's voice that I found irritating along with some really stupid songs like Hakuna Matata and that song which Scaar sang which was really sh*tty. Scaar looked completely like Jafar from Aladdin. The resemblance was ridiculous! It's like they took Jafar's face and literally stuck it on a lion.

The Lion King is the truth!

    Absolutely superb film.

I get goosebumps everytime I hear the following dialogue:

[Scar] "..but Simba you don't understand the pressures of ruling a kingdom..."
[Simba] "..Are no longer yours! Step down Scar."
[Scar] " well yes i would, naturally but there's a problem...you see them (points to the hyenas), they think I'm king!"
"Well we don't! (Lionesses suddenly show up) Simba's the rightful king"
[Simba] "Your choice Scar..Step down or fight!!"

    For me,
    1. Watership Down...by far, I remember it as a kid and it was both scary and amazing (hearing Art Garfunkel do the song Bright Eyes is enough to get me misty).
    2. Beauty and the Beast (although WALL-E is pretty close).

I don't get why they're making a Cars sequel. I mean is it me or isn't Cars like one of the top 5 most disappointing big budget animated films? So why make a sequel out of that crap when they could have done one for the various other cartoons such as the Incredibles. I'd kill for an Incredibles sequel.

I don't get it either. I stopped watching the first one midway through because it was so boring.

The only thing I can think of is the merchandise side is a huge success in spite of the movie. The toys and clothing and bedding crap and everything.

Watership Down was a great movie when I was a kid, but it was also a very disturbing movie. I wouldn't list it as one of the better animations of all time.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Akira or Ghost in the Shell. I personally don't care for japanamations, but I know there are a lot of people out there who love this shit.

    Two left field choices:

    The lord of the rings

    The flight of dragons

My two childhood favourites, with Watership Down and Disney's Robin Hood just missing out
