I didn't manage to see the fight live (saw it on youtube) but I saw flashes of him on the replay and watched some of his other fights too.

LIGHTNING fast hands, seems to have power, great accuracy, bodypunching, and is very patient/poised.

We have yet to see him against elite competition, so there are still questions, but he looks promising and he's a featherweight.

    Thoughts?

He's at the beginning of this clip

Incredibly fast hands....but he seem too small for the division(126) short and t-rex arms...

He seems pretty talented. But until he's tested, we have no idea how good he is.

    Yeah, agree with you guys.

If he was British, however, I'd pick him over a peak Salvador Sanchez right now.

Chunky might one day be a paper champion.

Other than that? Front running crap.

He'd fuck your boy Lè Moo up. EASY.

He's still unbeaten in the eyes of people who know how to score a fight.

Same way Pernell Whitaker was once 0-1 in world title fights, if you go off official decisions. Big deal.

He lost clearly though. If anything, he looked ordinary. In his biggest fight.

People wanted him to lose so even when he wins a fairly close one or struggles a little bit, they're going to give it to the other guy and the public will agree because they think he's a cunt.

He's a potential paper champ. Perhaps top 5ish in a weak division.

I don't think Pernell Whitaker would've had close fights with the likes of George Groves, win or lose. Just sayin..

DeGale won fairly clear, it's hard to look good when someone just runs away

    Well not exactly

mainly because everyone on Earth except those two judges and maybe ron king had that fight easily 8-4 or better for Whitaker

oh and also Whitaker was really good and Jose Luis Ramirez was also very good

I'm talking about his ceiling. He'll be borderline top 10 in a deep division.

Let me clear something up here, before anyone gets the impression I'm suggesting DeGale is as good or better than Sweet Pea. I said nothing of the sort, was merely a comparison to SD's "0-1 in big fights" statement. Fact is, Chunky is what? 10-1? Yeah lets write him off now because he lost by one point in a fight he should have won as he was the only guy trying to fight.

Put Le Moo, Pavlik, Stieglitz in there with DeGale tomorrow and they'll all lose. Handily.

We'll see, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

You're wrong though, just so you know.

I still haven't seen Russell fight yet, despite the link posted in this thread. Blocked in my country. Why does YouTube hate the British? I couldn't even watch the Khan-Judah fight on there yet the Irish folks can

He looks great so far, that's all that can be said. The only featherweight prospect that has been more impressive in late years is Lomachenko, the Ukrainian kid who destroyed his competition in the last Olympics

Though of course we have seen it several times that when a prospect steps up in competition, his punch can suddenly disappear, he can't slip punches as well anymore and is unable to compete against certain style of opponents.

My own experience happened in the early 2000s. My friend introduced me a flashy jr welterweight who was very quick, punched from odd angles and blasted out the best European level fighters with ease. When this guy gets to the States, we figured, he will be something to behold. The guy of course was Junior Witter
