I like brawlers but still Muhamed Ali is my favorite boxer of all time. If a prime Ali fought Tyson I would have rooted for Ali. Ali is the greatest character ever in boxing. Perhaps it is disputable wether he is the greatest boxer ever or not. That he is the greatest star in boxing history however is undisputable.

PS. Yeah OK, this is the 100th time that a thread like has been started. But still, these kind of threads are the most fun.

My fav boxer of all time was Danny "Little Red" Lopez. Great entertainer. Nearly every fight he had, he would get his butt almost beat in the first round or two, and then come back and win dramatically. Ali is second, followed by Hagler, and Foreman.

Cotto needs a couple of wins more to be one of my alltime favorites. He has great potential. I hope he doesn't lose one of his upcoming fights and he lives up to the expectations.

    GO COTTO!!!!!

    This is true!

I was a kid in Los Angeles in the early 70's and I used to watch his fights with my Aunt (a big sports fan when she was alive.) I remember him always being on his butt early in a fight, come back, then knock the fool out he was fighting...

    Always fun to watch...

    Good Call!

I made the list based on whose fights I rewatch the most. Their fights are usually great entertainment (Wlad-Sultan and Lewis-Tua being obvious exceptions). I like to watch fights where the superior fighter systematically breaks down the opponents resistance or outthinks him. That is why I also like Hopkins' fights (rewatched Hops-Tarver again today )

As a cruiser he was murder and damn near technically perfect. He beat your bitch Holly into submission the first fight BTW:lol:.... Unlike Holly Michael could not carry Heavy weight laurels:doh: :dunno:.... I actually think it was more psychological than anything.

What many people don't know is that As Roger Mayweather often says "Michigan is a boxing mecca." And while we had stick figures with obsene power (Hearns) and other incredible fighters from Michigan, Moore was looked upon in the gym as a kind of Zarathustra (superman) as a middle/cruiser.

BTW Honorable mention for my list: Tim Witherspoon. Philly is another great boxing town that makes em real good in the ring.
