What a fucktard. And, judging by the expression on Cottos face, the answer to Zabs question is a resounding NO.
Ignorant jackass. I'm trying to forget the fact that I was a fan of this clown at one point. You've embarrased BK for the last time. Just go away from boxing or drive a motorcycle in Las Vegas you piece of shit.
He is my little swarthling. Cotto is my newest favourite non-white fighter. Always remember, Arthur comes from the Caucasus. And to be fair, he could pass for a Guine..I mean Italian-American.
:: Sorry, but if he were jumping around waving a Lebanese flag with the rest of them in an international friendly against Ireland, he'd fit right in,...if he were jumping around waving an Irish-flag at an international friendly against Lebanon, he'd fit right out---> :crafty: . That's an Arab if ever I saw one my dear Irishman, there's nothing wrong with that, it's just that he simply isn't white,..and with Italians, I really think you have to judge on an individual basis, I've seen Italians whiter than I, but I've also seen Italians as black as East-indians :eeeek: :crafty: and there ain't no way they haven't crossed over the natural 'evolutionary line' it's not just an 'illusion'...:crafty: like parts of Russia, and deep rooted Icelanders for example, they're over half way to making the cross to 'mongolian' my friend..:crafty: the british based singer/musician 'Bjork' is a good example.
Hahahahaha, godfather you should have watched it till the end, it was one of the best bits. I have no doubt Cotto is one fo the best fighters out there at the moment, the guy is a fighting machine. No offense to the Rican fans, but he is actually more like a Mexican fighter. Non stop come forward attacking fighter, with a brilliant and focused body attack. Fucking tough too. It's a shame he is so fucking dull though. He is more lacking in personality and spark than any other top fighter I have ever seen, but ultimately it doesn't really matter, the guy can fight.
That's starting to go away, though. I think it's just a matter of his still attempting to conquer the English language (or at least our version of English :: ). That he's even attempting to make those strides speaks volumes of what he wants to be to American fight fans. He'll probably always be somewhat bland, that's true. People expect him to have Tito's charisma, and that's never going to happen. But he conducts himself with class, and keeps winning - that's going to have to be good enough, at least for now.
What makes me laugh about this topic, though, is that two months ago, many pointed to this very interview as proof that Zab has MATURED as a person. ::
don't know what you guys expect...getting punched upside the head thousands of times won't make zab any more intelligent or articulate. the guy was born dumb and will only get dumber the longer he fights..."know what i'm saying" will probably be the mans last words on his death bed...::
I do agree Jake. I think that is enough, at least for now, with him making good fights and winning them impressively. And he is certainly not a detestable prick is he? He conducts himself with class and dignity. I am more talking about his interviews in Spanish by the way, dating way back, he is a very bland, straight forward guy. Very much lacking the charm, wit, and badboyness of someone like Duran, or even the charm of Tito. But ultimately I watch boxers in the ring, fighting, not giving interviews, so I still have a firm seat in the Cotto bandwagon. He deserves credit for learning English etc too, he is obviously trying to appeal and be a fan favourite. At least he doesn't resort to being a prick to get attention :bears:
true, you are right about that. I remember mocking Cotto's "I fight who they put in front of me" approach to every question. But that also seems to be going away. His attitude seems to change the more he's given responsibilty - or at least credit - as one of the sport's ambassadors. his prior approach came across as a man who was breast-fed by Arum and Peter Rivera. But the more he wins and the bigger the stage, the more he seems to become a leader rather than a "talk to my promoter/manager/agent" type athlete.
That's exactly what sticks in my mind :bears: :: :: I am glad to hear he is changing, to be honest since then I have kind if steered clear of Cotto interviews and just watched him fight, but if you say he is changing then good. The PPV hype job was in Spanish, but that "n'am sayin'?" interview was in English actually, I did notice a slight reduction in dullness. I also remember him having a confused smile on his face, as if he pretty much understood nothing Zab was saying.
Thats what I though. Pleb was like "You know what I'm sayin" and the expression on Cottos face was "no, I don't":dunno:
