Sometimes you hear about how fast a fighter is/was and you remember. It's just a memory. Here's some footage to refresh your memory of some fast dudes. This made me appreciate Ray Leonard and Hector Camacho more than I already did.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URyaqxK-1fI&feature=related
I think Leonard arguably had faster hands than Mel Taylor. Reason being? Ray actually committed to his combos with full body weight behind them, and was still wicked fast. Taylor had a tendency to sometimes arm punch.
why does handspeed attract the sort of plaudits and praise that it does??? Jim Lampley referred to Khan vs Judah as a "Handspeed extravaganza" yet I can't imagine anyone waxing over a "thinking extravaganza" or an "improvisation extravaganza"
Judah was very fast when he was in his prime...and Khan speed is limited by his stiffness. Bradley vs. Pacquiao will be a handspeed extravaganza...
