Is this a new trend in boxing? Get a decent payday getting knocked out but having the back door of excusing the loss due to size discrepancy?

I won't stop REED at all this time.

    What in the FUCK?????

    Golov & Canelo deserve eachother.

Who will they fight next? Probably Morales for GGG and Barrera for CanYellow.

Nice pay day for GGG. Bet this will be the biggest purse of his career. Plus his first fight over here. Great exposure.

wtf. why can't brook just face thurman/garcia/spence, hopefully lose, and then just go away?

and ggg needs to get real.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. GGG should fuck off with this silliness. The only plus side is that Fraud Brook will get laid out in his cashout fight. It isn't much of a cashout.

Disgrace though this is for GGG, and it is an absolute disgrace, this is an equally disgraceful cashout for smell brook. I didn't think he had this much bitch in him but to run from every other welter in the world to get iced and take the UK PPV money this soon has surprised even me.

don't you think he intends to go back to 147 after, where he has a title, and fight nobodies, with the confidence that since he faced ggg, he will not be criticized for ducking thurman/spence/garcia?

Still, on 10th September I get to see that fraud get carried out on a stretcher. A sham of a fight, but small acorns and all that...

No. It's an absolute cashout fight. Like Khan - Canelo, but worse.

So instead of getting Khan-Brooks (two top ww, both from the UK) and GGG-Canelo (the 2 best at mw and both huge draws), we get Khan-Canelo and GGG-Brooks, two meaningless uninteresting matchup. No wonder I lose more and more interest in the sport.

I agree with you. Both should be ashamed. Perhaps he and Khan have made a pact to fight each other after both have been knocked silly by bigger guys. Perhaps it's part of the promotion "KO Me If You Can."

GGG fans had plenty to say about Canelo fighting Khan...can't wait to hear how this makes sense. Also, if the fight is at a catch weight that shits on any prior displeasure with Canelo wanting a catch weight fight.

This is bad for all parties involved.

I agree it's a cash out and he is probably about 7/1 to get killed, but HYPOTHETICALLY - if he were to somehow win legitimately and without controversy, where would it rank in the great all time wins by British boxers?

Agreed, GGG can fuck off. Sad, as in the beginning, he seemed to be an exciting fighter keen on fighting the best

IMO this would be the greatest win in the history of British boxing. Smell has literally no chance - I'd lay him at 40-1 if I were laying odds. My phone has been buzzing off the hook for the last hour - no-one can believe this fight has been made. It's the most blatant cashout I've ever seen in the 25 years I've followed this sport.

My mate just told me - I made him read the lead paragraph twice then grabbed his phone still convinced he was bullshitting. Bizarre!

I don't understand the criticism against Brook for taking this fight. He has so many easier paths to make the same or more money with less risk that he can only be commended.

GGG? Whatever, but I don't blame him, either. Brook has a decent claim to be the best welterweight not named Mayweather and it's not like he's ducking anyone else more deserving, is it?
