Pretty sure UFC has had fights on NYE, but have they ever had one of these mega shows on NYE? I'm wondering if moving it to the 30th is to stay away from NYE or just to see what happens?
I have a feeling Ronda is gonna get bashed up. Her heart isn't in it, with this recent retirement talk. One clean shot from Nunes is gonna give her flashbacks to last year and considering how long it's taken her to get over it, my guess is she won't be too eager to go through that again and she'll go quietly. My guess is afterwards she'll be off to Holywood to try to make it as an action star. Doubt she'll succeed.
I agree. I don't think she has the heart in it or the confidence to be a fighter anymore. Her aura was destroyed right along with her fighting career. It's over and this will be her last payday and fight in the UFC.
agREED... Nunes Looked Like a Fucking ANIMAL Disposing of Meisha Tate...Ronda Won't WANT it to the Degree Nunes Does and 1nce the Going Gets Tough, Ronda will FOLD... Nunes looked tough against Tate, but Nunes has losses. This fight likely ends up on the ground and Ronda is able to do her thing. I normally don't put much stock into internet psycho analysis, especially when it comes to pro athletes and everyone projecting how they might react in that person's shoes. However, when it comes to Rousey, I guess I need to make an exception or join in with it. Rousey's words, actions, and basically everything outside the ring equal a fighter who isn't going to be as good from this point forward. While Tyson was the most appropriate comparison before, it sure does seem Hamed or Jeff Lacy, etc will be the most appropriate comparison moving forward. But, I'm going to play both sides of this card and say Rousey wins against Nunes.
In her 1st Public Appearance Since the Loss, Rousey Composed Herself Like a Sexually Abused CHILD...Walking Thru the Airport Defeated, Face COVERED by a Fucking Pillow, w/Her Consoling Boyfriend By her Side... I can't believe I will be able to make money on this fight. How is Rousey still a -140 favorite? I got Nunes at +220. It's gotten much tighter this week but I just can't believe the lingering Rousey hype. I will be absolute stunned into a coma if she isn't destroyed by Nunes.
As long as Rousey doesn't think "being in shape" is all she needs to get back to form I think she'll be okay. She'll probably get hurt early and how she responds will be key. It wasn't that long ago that McGregor got choked out and he still came back and won two fights. I'm amazed by all the hate for Rousey since her loss. Because of this I'd like to see her beat that girls ass.
I would actually like Ronda to win this. I'm a fan of comebacks. I just don't like the signs she's displayed since her loss. Just seems her mental state is not in a good place.
REED Never Minded Rousey's Arrogance, Until the Holly Holm Weigh-In... Well, not so surprising Rousey got routed. Despite what I said above, I did pick Nunes tonight, but I really thought Rousey would make a real effort at getting it to the ground. I don't think Nunes is likely to be champ for long. She's looked dominant for two fights, maybe more, but 13-4 in women's mma just isn't a record that figures to be a dominant champ. I like Garbrandt well enough, but I am surprised that he shut down Cruz so well. He didn't look like he had good defense, but I've never seen Cruz have so much trouble landing. Pretty much a shit fight, but sorta interesting to see a guy like Cruz get more or less outclassed. Garbrandt doesn't figure to make too many defenses before losing, but he may be around a while as a top challenger/champion.
I'd pick Dillashaw over both of them right now. Really giood fighter. Rousey gut wrecked, that was kind of sad to watch. Nunes should be champ for a while, I guess that Shevchenko girl is next, and that should be a good fight. Not sure who else is a viable contender, maybe the Polish bitch could move up.
