yeah. he insulted me to such an extent that it became funny. he also alluded to having had a pretty serious bout with drugs.

There are so many great matchups @147. Boxing is really dropping the ball right now. Yes, Floyd and Cotto are the elite. That is a fight that must be made, soon.

Fights I want to see at 147(just who I want stylistically) and who I would take.

    Cintron/Williams. Williams
Zab/Clottey don't have a clue, probably Zab, but really unsure
Cotto/Floyd I'd have to think more
    Margarito/Mosely Mosely
Collazo/Quintana Collazo in a great fight. I think Quintana lacks toughness

good post. it's a rock/paper/scissors situation at 147. and that's why no single fighter is willing to fight everyone (except for Williams and Margarito who have the losses to prove it). Cotto and PBF cherish their "o" too much to give the fans what they want.

too much is made of the undefeated record in boxing - it's the whole reason hundreds of fights we want to see never get masde. and partially to blame are the people who over-use terms like, "exposed," as if to say a fighter can't be good if he loses.

is there any doubt the patriots weren't one of the best teams in history even having lost to NY? no.

I get the impression from reading this thread that double L resembles jim norton, from the show Lucky Louie.

Baldomir and ODLH already beat PBF, now it's Williams and Margarito turn.

Williams's lone loss is against a guy in Quintana whom was busted up and quit against the guy you criticize, Cotto.

which is why you can bet Cotto will hold out on making this fight until Chad Johnson goes a season without talking shit after a TD.

Realistically, this fight may happen in '09 dependent on Floyd's attitude for the future. He may just lay low for awhile, face Oscar for 8 figures again, and then wait for someone beatable to become MW champ, so he can take that person out and go down as one of the best ever.

I put Clottey at #3 in that division. Somebody needs to give him a shot.

How can you justify rating Clottey above Margarito?

If cotto-Floyd doesn't happen this year. when they do fight if Floyd loses he'd be "old"

Because even though Margarito barely beat Clottey and only did so because Clottey got injured, I feel Clottey is a better more talented fighter with better defense. You guys can't just go by who beat whom, there are always intangibles.

Of course I could be wrong but on my list Clottey comes out ahead of Margarito.

But U Almost HAVE to Go by "Who Beat Whom", Unless 1 of the Guys has a STRING of Recent Losses or Something...

Margarito Lost ONE Close Fight Recently, yet he BEAT Clottey...Better Resume, More Accomplishments than Clottey...So Far, All Clottey's Done is Beat Chico....

As Much as REED would LIKE to, he COULDN'T Rate Clottey AHEAD of Margarito, N Good Conscience...

 don't start with the excuses....

"old" ? Hopkins is old...Trinidad is old...Jones is old...DLH is old....Mayweather is 31 years old...and hasn't taken any punishment in the ring...in a year or two he will still be 32-33 pink and ready for the pricking...:nono:

Clottey was hurt? I can't believe anyone believes that rubbish. He claims that after every fight that goes any kind of rounds. Why? Because he has absolutely horrible stamina.

Margarito beat him clear as hell, anyway.

Yeah, but Clottey was also handing Margarito his ass right before the injury and that is what plays the major factor in my decision. Sure he failed to show strong mental fortitude, but I think in a rematch he beats Margarito.
