Apparently, Brady REFUSED to Turn his Cell Phone Over to the NFL Which, According to a Suspended Ball Boy, Contained Text Messages and/or Email Communications FROM Brady, Asking him to Deflate Footballs... The League Even Offered Ironclad SAFEGUARDS Protecting Brady's PRIVACY, for Giving them Access to his Phone, but Dude Still WOULDN'T Cooperate... *sniff sniff* GUILTY!!!... REED:mj:
Tannehill got a 6-year, $96 million extension, which will inevitably give Russell Wilson Mayweather money
I like the deal. Tannehill has gotten better every year, and with a whole new set of young receivers to grow with him over the years, I see him becoming one of the solid 2nd tier QB's in the league. TFK
Not Sooooooo Sure about that... Top Tier Guys are Rodgers, Brady, Manning, Luck...2nd Tier Guys are Roethlisberger, Brees, Romo, maybe Rivers, maybe Flacco, maybe Ryan...3rd Tier Guys are your Staffords, Daltons... While Certainly NOT Bad, REED Doesn't See Tannehill EVER Being a 2nd Tier QB...3rd Tier's Doable Though... REED:mj:
Tannehill is already better than the Staffords and the Daltons of the league and I'd say already he's at least the equal of Flacco and Ryan. He hasn't reached his potential yet as he's always been saddled with a lousy line, average receivers and lack of experience...remember, he started as a WR in college and didn't become a starting QB until midway through his junior year. Now, with a (hopefully) better line, more offensive weapons and another year under his belt, Tannehill is in a position to excel. fk
What "Field" are you Referring To, Because Tannehill's Stats, Playoffs/Pro Bowl Appearances VEHEMENTLY Disagree w/Your Assertion???... REEDopcorn:
Unless You're Prepared to Attribute THE Biggest Super Bowl Chokejob EVER, to Russell Wilson (Which You Aren't), Don't Act like Peyton Manning is/was 100% Responsible for his Team's Playoff Woes Either... REEDhno:
Look, You Could've Simply Said, "Tannehill Plays for My FAVORITE Team, I'm BIASED & I THINK/HOPE he's Gonna Crack the 2nd-3rd Tier of NFL QB's One Day".... Instead, you Said Tannehill was "Already" As Good or Better than Players He Simply HAS NOT Proven Himself To Be...There's Literally NATHAN to Base your Opinion On, NATHAN that "Backs Up" What You Claim, OTHER than Sheer Fandom... REED's Even Given You the Latitude to STATE Your Case, yet You've Shown You're INCAPABLE of Supporting your Point... Fair Enough... REED:mj:
That's just It, REED Has & the #'s DON'T Agree w/You... Fuuuuuurthermore, it's Louis C.K. Level HILARITY that You'd Attempt to MINIMIZE Playoff/Pro Bowl/All Pro Appearances.... But Again, Fair Enough... REED:mj:
I minimize them because they mean nothing in this argument. And the numbers do back me up. For example, only 1 QB in the NFL threw for over 4000 yards and ran for over 300 last year. Wanna take a guess who that was? TFK
QB's are Judged By the BODY Of their Work, So Things like Pro Bowls, Playoffs, Won-Loss Record, Stats, etc., are ALL RELEVANT...But Since Tannehill Comes Up SHORTER than Emmanuel Lewis on a Basketball Court, in that Regard, You're Selectively Minimizing... 4,000yds AIN'T What it Used to Be, Dude...Hell, Jon Kitna's Done it Twice...Matt Schaub and Trent Green 3 Times Apiece...Stafford and Ryan have Done it 4 Times Each... There's Literally NO Criteria by Which to Lift Tannehill to the Heights your Attempting, Other than FANDOM... REED:mj:
Again, playoffs and pro bowls are completely meaningless in this discussion. You can bring it up as much as you like, it won't change anything. Then again, I can't imagine why I'd waste my time arguing the merits of a QB with a guy who thought Johnny Manziel was the 2nd coming, and had a hissy fit when the Cowboys rightfully passed him over in the draft. TFK
REED Said NO Such Thing... REED Had a "Hissy Fit", Because Coming Off Major BACK Surgery, NO ONE Thought Romo Would Play Even HALF the Season, Let Alone the Amount of Games he Eventually Did...& To Date, "America's Team", YOUR Dallas Cowboys, are STILL In Need of a Replacement, Sooooooooner Rather than Later... Johnny Football's TALENT is Apparent...His MATURITY/PROFESSIONALISM are the Issues...Just Don't Prematurely Ejaculate On Yourself, Rushing to Label Dude a "Bust" after Starting What, 1-2 Games Last Season???... REED:hammert:
Ben Roethlisberger deserves to be, but never is, mentioned right next to any elite or top tier QB in the league. There is absolutely nothing in his game that puts him below those guys.
I always love the excuse for Tannehill's slow development being that he was a wide receiver in college. People tend to forget that he threw for like a billion yards as a high school QB in Texas. He was recruited to A & M as a QB and competed for the starting QB job every year. It's not like he just started throwing a football in his Junior year. As a lifelong and long time suffering Dolphin fan, I hope Tannehill does continue to progress. But I am curious how many other Quarterbacks drafted with one of the top ten spots would still have a starting job and get a huge contract after 3 full years as a starting QB and not a single winning season to show for it. You can call him 2nd tier or 3rd tier but I know he's been given a longer opportunity to progress than most.
Well According to Some, Making the Playoffs, Pro Bowls, Win-Loss Record, etc., is IRRELEVANT in this Context... REED
Please, just go read last year's draft thread and see what a fool you made out of yourself over the Cowboys taking Martin over Manziel. You couldn't have been more wrong than you were. TFK
I don't think Tannehill has been slow to develop at all. I think just about any team would be thrilled to have their QB throw for 4000 yards and rush for 300 in their 3rd year. I just don't think we've seen the best of him yet. He's got a lot of weapons this season, and quite a few of them play into his strengths (quick, short, accurate passes). This is gonna be a fun year for Miami, no doubt. TFK
