Hey Buddy did you pick up Men's health 2014 training guide? I just saw it at a gas station today and picked it up. It's a pretty cool read, and only 12.95.

Day 251: I might have to pick that up this afternoon, BOSS. Sorry for busting your balls on the job thing, dude. You went for the throat a few times as well, but I'd rather bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones.

You wanted a picture of my six-pack abs, here it is, but they are under my shirt. Still, the sideview tells the tale of my weight-loss to this point.

Day 251: This picture was one of my Facebook pictures from last night's trip to our rockclimbing gym. Crappy quality for the picture, I know, but it was taken with an iPhone in very bright light conditions. Still, my stomach is flat and tight now from all my chins, ropeclimbing, and now rockclimbing. I can do 12 consecutive jackknife chins with my legs held straight and parallel with the floor. I'm probably 20-30lbs pulling pressure away from a one-arm chin with either hand.

Day 252: No kilt while climbing---got it, Billeh! I gotta bring a better camera and get better pictures next time. These aren't totally bad, and you can see my stomach's flat and the lats are flared out from the rope-climbing. The rope at this place is thicker and softer than the one I have at home, but it isn't knotted. Still, when you get up over 10 metres in the air, you become very aware of how high you are and how much it would hurt to fall.

Day 269: I'm 176 and I haven't been careful with my diet lately. I figured that if I eased up on my eating habits, it would get easier when I start eating strictly again. I am 16lbs from my target weight and will be as light as I was at 18-19 years of age but with lower bodyfat. I won't be superlean with 5% bodyfat, but 10-12% isn't too bad.

Day 5 (As of the New Year): 174 today lads. I'm having fun climbing with my son and waiting for our little girl. Decided to start a new numbering that's more in synch with the now. I generated plenty of ill will on the site over the past few years, but I also got double-teamed for quite a stint. It's put me off the site, but I will post occasionally. This would have been Day 276 by the old numbers. I hope everyone's doing well, and I won't be on often because I'll be busier soon.

Nice. Glad to hear you're on track, BOSS. I did a lot of cardio today and I'll likely be 173 in the morning. That will be temporary because it bounces up and down, but it will be a big milestone for me. I will have lost 50lbs since last Superbowl Sunday.

Wow, I'm 172. That's 51lbs down. I'm starting to see intercostals and obliques getting defined. I think 160 would be ideal, but I probably won't hit that until April or May. I want to walk around at 160, which means making 155 because I tend to retain 5-10lbs of water. I have lots of energy and feel fairly light, but I will get lighter yet.

I find that an hour of cardio a day helps immensely, but diet is the main factor---and getting enough sleep. If you overtrain (and by that I mean don't get enough rest and nutrients), you can sometimes stop losing fat somewhat and just lose muscle as you go down in weight.

Day 29: Made it to 170, but I was pretty drained. I'm bouncing between 170 and 180. I'm really trying hard for the one-armed chinup. I feel like it's just out of my reach, so I'm going to focus on strength and cardio. Still do tabatas for the bodyparts that have fat, but mainly strength training (5-10 reps), bodyweight exercises, and cardio.

Thread it, man. You're an animal, and it would be a good read.

I find gains occur in a sudden stop-and-start way. I made it to 170, but I was drained from moving furniture and an hour of daily cardio. Man, I wish I had known back in the day how easy it was to meet girls at the gym just by hitting the weights hard and then being an affable, pleasant fellow. Even butt ugly guys like me can strike up a chat if we hit the weights hard and then engage in conversation. Who knew? :)

Day 34: Well LOK, It's been a year since I started getting back into shape after last Superbowl Sunday. I went down 50+lbs and I'm in as good a shape as I have been since my early 20s---but I'm definitely stronger. I'm getting closer and closer to a one-armed chinup, and I did 150 regular chinups yesterday. The changes I made have given me more endurance and strength. It was quite an experience and I plan on keeping it going. I play with my son all the time and don't get wiped out, so the past year was definitely worth it. If I can do it, anybody can.

Day 58: If I made it down to 160, I'd be doing one-armed chins right now. Currently doing 160 for 4 reps in the one-armed pulldown. I put 180 on and did a negative. If I had unhooked my legs, the handle and counterweight would have lifted me off the floor. Getting OH-SO-CLOSE to a one-armed chin. I will definitely get it this summer.
