Testosterone replacement therapy. It makes you wonder if the testosterone is drained from these guys by the intense training they do.
Man, we sure are hearing a lot of this in MMA lately. I think PEDs are used a LOT more in the sport that it appears on the surface.
Doing steroids will make your body stop producing testosterone natuarally. You gotta think at least some of these guys are doing it for this reason.
Good for rampage. I doubt his problem is low T tho. He just has not evolved in MMA. But it will make him feel better in life in general
Right on the money. Really its all sports. If there is money to be made, guys are finding ways to do PED's. It is crazy at the lower levels. Especially in MMA and Boxing. And that is what busts most of these guys, they get a false sense of security. I almost always suspect now too. It sucks, but it is just the way it goes. Guys like Rampage who went to Pride to fight, there is no doubt they did roids IMO. And like Z said now his body isn't producing the testosterone levels it should. I know Trp is gonna kill me for saying this, but I have always wondered if PED's is why Eddie Alvarez has stayed away from the UFC:dunno:
You might be confusing me with TFK. He was an Alvarez foamer. I'm not. Personally I think Alvarez is one of the top 3-5 fighters not in the UFC, but I wouldn't argue against your point. But I've got to assume that Alvarez has been tested. The guy has fought all over the place. I'm not sure of the states that test and those that don't.
So, please clarify this for me. You think it's OK that he uses testosterone despite not having low testosterone. Obviously we don't know if he does or doesn't, but is that really what your saying?
Actually, in my opinion, proactively admitting it would have been BEFORE stepping in the cage with Bader. I realize he admitted it without being popped, but......
i thought TRT was for men who couldnt grow facial hair nor produce enough soldiers to march. not for trying to knock someone's head off.
What a bullshit, nonsensical exception this is. It would be comical if it wasn't so inherently unfair to clean fighters.
At around 25 everyones natural GH and Test levels start to decrease. Happens to everyone at SOME point So taking juice at this point makes it much much easier to train because youre able to recover again like you havnt been able to in years
Why do i need to address MMA specifically? Both boxing and MMA have to follow the same rules set by the Athletic commission.
Yep, it certainly does happen to everyone. It's life. And when a person gets too old, they should no longer be a professional fighter if they can't train and perform without the aid of steroids. As I said in the title of the thread, it's legal cheating. You get some sham of a doctor to say you have a low testosterone issue and BOOM you're training like a 19 year old again. And the flip side are clean fighters like Michael Bisping who are driven and willing to push through the pains and rigors of training without the need for steroids. As Mike said, it's the clean fighters that are on the wrong end of things.
Is it really permitted by mma/UFC and boxing, though? I thought the UFC banned the guys who have played this card before? I don't think boxers gets to play this card as an excuse, either.
I want Bisping to get his ass kicked each and EVERYTIME he steps in the cage. That being said, he is one of the few MMA fighter to call TRT cheating.hno: I respect him for that and THAT alone.
