Stevenson was a 1/50 favourite before the fight started. Just goes to show you how much he's willing to put his title on the line against the most dangerous foes...NOT! Stinker.
That is just insane, it really is. Kovalev deserves a big pay day. How much do you think he could earn if he was to face Stevenson?
supposedly hes gonna get paid well vs pascal so we shall see. also heard stevenson got 1.8 mill vs fonfara
Disgracefull fight for Stevenson, but let's not go overboard, his opposition in the last few years has been really good in general. In fact, his resume is still probably better than Kovalev resume. Still, he has to get his shit straight, cause he'll turn quiclky into a farce if he doesn't have a superfight soon.
That makes no sense. Stevenson doesn't seem anywhere near popular enough to be earning 1.5 million against total scrubs, and Kovalev is far too established to be earning 100k against a big name fighter.
Well like mikE said Kovalev netted 125k of 500 gross. Hopkins took all the money. Haymon gets his guys paid that's why Stevenson signed with him
I just watched it now and I thought Stevenson did pretty well. Granted, Sukhotsky isn't good and his style of plodding slowly forwards was perfect for Adonis to look good but his punches carried plenty of weight and he seemed more like a two-handed guy in there, he wasn't only throwing left crosses as usually
Stevenson fought a no hoper but damn, can he punch? The left cross that ended the fight was a fucking bomb.
Why doesn't a Jim Gray or a Larry Merchant sort put a mike under this guys face and say "you've been a pimp all your life, when are you going to man up".
Haymon's SMART... He "Only" Signs Guys to MANAGERIAL Contracts, which is LESS of a Hassle than PROMOTIONAL Contracts Are...Less of a LIABILITY Too...Being "Just" the Manager of a Shitload of Fighter's Actually ENABLES Haymon to Take LESS of their Money, which in Turn Leads to More & MORE Fighter's Standing in Line to Team Up w/Him (Like Stevenson, Ward, etc)... It's Really about a LACK of GREED, in the Case of Haymon...Typically, he Doesn't Start Taking Sizable Portions of his Fighter's Purses UNTIL they've Reached a Particular Dollar Amount... Loooooooooooong Story Short, Haymon's Basically PROMOTING Guys w/Out a License, the Liability or the RISK...& he's Unselfish ENOUGH to Lure Fighter's In... Seems like haymon ' s goal right now is market share. And that's why he'd keep less money...for now. It's like amazon.com. they're so focused on giving good deals and free shipping, they don't actually turn a profit right now. And that's because their goal is to kill competition and gain share. For now.

how? soon showtime and hbo are gonna be pissed when haymon takes all his fighters to NBC next year and cuts everyone out
REED has SERIOUS Doubts about Boxing EVER Thriving Again, On Non-Subscription Television... More than Likely, NBC will Be a Vehicle for Haymon to BUILD Younger Fighters or SHOWCASE Older One's Looking to Revamp their Careers...No Different than ESPN's "Friday Night Fights" or Showtime's "ShoBox"... You'll Never EVER See Fighter's of Floyd or Danny Garcia's Ilk (Or Whomever ASSumes their Roles in Haymon's Stable, Down the Line), Fighting LIVE on NBC... REED:nono:
N that will be EXcellent....then someone like GGG would be as popular as all these articles make him out to be.....fighting on HBO/SHOWTIME doesn't expose to the same amount of people than fighting on a Saturday night on NBC would....n with his STYLE n KO power casual boxing fans will fall in love with him....those same casual fans would be screaming for GGG vs. Mayweather/Pacquiao/Canelo/Cotto.... a guy like Gamboa would be a STAR/make a comeback........Mikey Garcia a STAR/build up his resume........... NBC will never have Floyd or Pacquiao...those guys have shown they can sell ppv fighting young lions on ppv....n they are not in a time in their career for TUNE Up fights...I think you could see a Cotto, Canelo, Ward(since his boring ass shit n needs fans), really everyone not name pac or may fighitng on NBC.... Showtime/Hbo should be just for big fight even.... Garcia vs. Crawford.....Cotto or Canelo vs. TOp 10 154-160.... PPV should be for....Floyd vs. Pac...Cotto vs. Canelo.....any of the previous 4 vs. GGG.... Garcia vs. Petterson? Yeah I can see that on NBC though it could easily fit in HBO/Showtime....but lets keep it real...Petterson fanbase doesn't exist...N Garcia fanbase is limited...both NEED exposure... When these networks are paying BRADLEY...1-2 million dollars...or whatever they are to fight Chaves....they have TO know they are OVERPAYING the guy....he has 3 fans that hideous wife n them kids....that it!!... Bradley vs. Chaves that should've been a NBC fight.....
