I've always felt this would be a close fight. My opinion has never swayed. Both very good technicians in their own way, though with different styles. Toney doesn't have to deal with the speed and firepower from Ward that he faced against Roy. Ward dominated guys like Kessler and Froch in close, but Kessler and Froch can't infight for shit. Toney is a different beast. Andre's better suited to use his legs and angles in this one. And his legs were better in his 20s than they are now. Objectively, I think I'd favor Ward in a close one, but if it's the Barkley fight version of Toney, it really could go either way.
I don't know but I would have loved to see it. I think it would have been a chess match like Toney's fight with McCallum.
I think once both guys get comfortable Ward pulls ahead but Toney finds ways to land and eventually catches and stops Ward.
Highly unlikely considering Kovalev punches much harder than Toney. Ward is tough and naturally much bigger than Toney.
Ward doesn't have a great chin by any means. If Toney caught him right he could definitely badly hurt him. And if he did, it'd be interesting, cause Toney knew how to close the show better than Kov.
I don't think Ward has a glass jaw but he doesn't seem "tough" by boxing standards at all. He fights like a guy that's learned the hard way contact isn't good for him. I don't see him faring well against someone that can consistently touch him.
