I don't agree. Stiverne is stylistically very limited but if AJ jumped on him the way he did with Whyte, he might not have won.

I wouldn't pick Whyte over Duhaupas either.

Stiverne has a chin. Wilder landed plenty of bombs and he was still there giving it some.

Whyte was considered shit before the aj fight. Everybody who saw him fight were saying he was a bum. While he looked decent in that fight, lets not pretend he has proven to be anything special. At this point, molina, stiverne and duhaupas are probably better, and are, at the very least, much more proven

I think Joshua could make easy work of Stiverne by keeping him at range and moving. Stiverne doesn't have the best movement, quickest feet or have long arms. He wouldn't budge if AJ landed a few clean shots though and he'd probably give some back, but i do favour Joshua.

I get the criticism of Whyte but as I said to Irish previously, I think time will prove him to be a better fighter, much better in fact, than those guys. Agreed though that currently you'd have to say he's less proven.

I wasn't saying that- I was saying he was pretty dangerous/talented. Which he clearly was...

Who knows how his career will turn out because he's clearly an absolute numpty, but hes got some natural ability and he brought his a-game to the o2

Whyte said he was at about 45 percent because of the shoulder injury he sustained in round 2.

So far Whyte has only been proven with circular logic. He is good, because he gave a good fight to Joshua. Joshua is good, because he was able to overcome such a dangerous guy

We haven't said he's been "proven" good, we just believe he is good going off what we've seen so far in the ring.

Aye true, I think he'll have a good career though. The rivalry with Joshua is obviously legit and personal, I reckon as long as AJ has continued success it will spur Whyte on to do the same.

How about 'he was a threat because I've been watching boxing 15 years and I know what a guy who can fight a wee bit looks like when I see it by now'. You can't recognize all the intangibles that make a top, top fighter until a guy is tested but you can see offensive threat, speed, punching technique etc very quickly

Sure, but you know as well as I do that looks are deceiving. No way should Fury be the champ according to how he looked coming up. Ditto for Wilder.

Everybody is unproven once of course and I realize that. If you suspect he is going to have a good career, it is a plausible pick. I have been on both Fury's and Herbie Hide's bandwagons so I know shit and bust

Joshua-Wilder could be over in a matter of seconds.

I rate Joshua over Wilder, but if Wilder beats him to the punch he could be in trouble. I'm very confident though if Joshua landed a huge shot first, Wilder be fucked.

Wilder's only chance would be a bomb, early doors.

I think he gets figured out very quickly here and AJ's straighter and more compact shots would get there quick, and Wilder simply will not take them.

I could see this ending in 2 rounds.

What is concerning is Joshua's left hand. When he throws the jab or uses it as a measuring aid, he drops it back down so low. He can be a bit too relaxed with it. He was doing it against Martin but obviously had nothing coming back at him.

Probably because he was trying to draw Martin in. Martin wasn't opening up at all.

Wilder would. And Joshua would likely be ready for it, and he'd keep both hands up.

I have seen nothing that suggests AJ is a mover or can move.

Yeah, Joshua isn't a mover, you're right, but I still think he could make easy work of Stiverne by keeping him at length of his punches. Stiverne tends to do a lot of excess movement without throwing a great deal.

I think Joshua will not like this Ortiz man. Not one bit. Powerful lefties. Nobody likes them.

Ortiz is very good. Crafty southpaw, good power, solid fundamentals. Untested chin.

Joshua would have too much for him, I think. The combination of youth, size, power, hand speed, and improving his skills fight by fight.

Ortiz may just be too well-schooled for Joshua right now.
