Sapp basically says that he refuses to take punishment for small chunks of money (He says he gets 30-40 K per fight) He says he will show up for the "fight" but once there is danger of getting hurt he's getting out of the fight . Ariel is funny in the interview he calls Bob Sapp insane, a disgrace etc, and he even basically hangs up on him.
Prime Big Nog Sapp probably does. Lesnar is a joke too. Sapp would rush him throwing those huge roided up bombs and Lesnar would just fold.
No way in hell would that have ever happened. He would have simply took Sapp down and pounded him out. Easily.
Let's be clear, Lesnar didn't have a lack of heart, cardio or chin. There is no way in the world Bob Sapp EVER beats him. Shying away from punches from Carwin or Overeem is far different from Sapp.
get real Sapp beat Hoost twice in kickboxing matches (tough the stoppage were bad). He was a far better striker than Carwin
Carwin is a far more dangerous MMA striker than Sapp ever dreamed of being. There is really no comparison. If you took a poll of a 1000 fans familar with Sapp's striking and Carwin's striking, I'd guess better than 80% would consider Carwin more dangerous. Just a guess. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm probably right. LOL.
Overeem fans consistently overrate the K-1 talent level in my opinion. Much like Aoki fans consistently overrate the DREAM talent level.
No, K1 used to have the best kickboxers (and muya thai) in the world. I agree that the talent level in kickboxing is not all that, but still, K1 fighters are way better striker than MMA fighter in average. If you followed kickboxing at the time, you know that beating Hoost was no small feat. his victory over abidi is not too shabby either. I can't see Carwin getting anything but destroyed in a k1 match against the Hoost Sapp beat.
LOL... Yes, Sapp with his slow, lethargic punching had decent wins in K-1 but Carwin couldn't. Please.... As I said, Overeem fans ALWAYS overate the talent in K-1 in order to believe their man has faced nothing but the best strikers in the world. And then in MMA, the same Overeem that fought all these top level, amazing, world class, heroic K-1 fighters, looks like a normal MMA striker.
sapp should've been DQed vs. hoost. he looked like he was also juicing big time. he was probably juicing against noguiera too.
There's nothing to argue about this. K1 was considered the best kickboxing (and to a lesser extend muay thai) organisation in the world. No matter how much you use it won't change this fact. Youe whole argument is based on a ridiculous extrapolation on how Carwin would do against some of the best strikers in the world based on his ko over mediocre striker. And your last sentence is completey ridiculous, since his time in K1, Overeem striking has been nothing less than spectacular in MMA
As for Lesnat against Sapp, I'd make Lesnar the (heavy) favorite based on his wrestling, and Sapp destruction at the hands of Fujita when he still cared about fighting. But, since Lesnar was pretty much a bully and mentally weak, I could see him figthing scared against Sapp, unwilling to get in harms way, and getting ktfo in the process
Oh boy, the delusions of a blind fan. I dont think I've EVER seen striking as sloppy as Overeem's versus Liddell. And honestly, does anyone think Overeem's striking was STELLAR against Werdum, Kharitonov, Rua? Sure, I'll admit that Overeem's striking looked STELLAR against guys like Goodridge, Fujita, Rogers, Duffee, etc. But then again, whose wouldn't?
Werdum did quite well striking against Overeem. There was nothing spectacular about that display of K-1 striking.
