Barkley Entertains Fans in Idaho (full report)

This past Saturday, February, 23rd at the Pi-Nee Waus Community Center in Lapwai, Idaho, local fight fans were treated to a small show that featured former middleweight king Iran Barkley in a three round exhibition bout against heavyweight Chauncey Welliver. The show, which was promoted by Welliver, almost did not come to fruition as growing controversy over the inclusion of sixty year old Saul Mamby and forty-seven year old Iran Barkley in professional bouts

About eight years ago Barkley visited Finland and fought against 300lbs heavyweight Tony Halme (former WWF wrestler Ludwig Borga). It was a funny fight

 

did it create as much public attention as when Conan O'Brien came to Finland?

 

It did gather 6000 people to audience, which back then was huge for Finnish boxing event.

Conan got easily more attention though, no question about that. The press went all over Conan's visit as if it was something truly remarkable, he was in like four TV shows on one night. Barkley's visit was mig in boxing circles but they are tiny in here
