All the Conjuring and Conjuring Universe movies. Absolutely anything else involving those frauds The Warrens, including Amityville Horror.

Most films based on true stories are mainly fiction.

Maybe we should stick to extreme examples. If like 50% of the movie is legit and 50% is embellished, then it doesn't qualify.

Example: There was no actual Jack and Rose narrative, or Cal Hockley bad guy on the actual "Titanic", but there WAS a boat called "The Titanic", that sunk in the Northern Atlantic ocean and killed 1500+ people. Rose's necklace was not found by an exploration crew decades later, but there were literally thousands of artifacts that have been lifted from the Titanic over the years.

Plenty of examples of near complete fabrications out there.

I know most would say that the story of Noah's ark is fiction anyway...but for argument sake, the film was based on a Bible account, and many people believe the Bible account to be true. So i think that "Noah" qualifies in principle.

That film was 99% different to the Bible account.

I could be wrong, but maybe topic should be:

"Dishonest attempts to rewrite history by distorting true events and then claiming story is true."

So you think Left is the major offender here? I tend to agree if for no other reason than that they run hollywood, etc and have far greater reach with their movies. They rewrite shit all the time.

Hollywood should write more movies about Colin Kaepernick being a flag hating commie that hates the troops, and America, and Ballpark Franks, and loves ISIS. He's probably a vegetarian and a kiddie fucker to.

They will have to come up with some alternative to the truth. Maybe they can compare him to MLK and pretend he did not wear pig socks.

Too steamy for movie theaters. It could get slapped with an NC-17 just for its premise. Besides Brando already did this in "Last Tango in Paris".

Why don't you or Panchy open up a Home Alone 2 appreciation thread. Your God makes a cameo in that movie.

Apollo 11 Moon Landing. It was real until they decided to turn it into science fiction with man landing on the moon and stuff.

the credits said frank dux was a real person, and really won the kumite tournament, and had the record for the fastest knockout etc.

but dux was apparently a fantasist, made up the whole kumite tournament, and his victories in it.

There’s actually 2 sides to that story. I can’t remember exactly but looking it up I think it was actually verified to be true. Or at least arguably so.

google it a few times and it's quite convincing that it's all bullshit. Dux made up a secret tournament organised by a secret organisation, and their being "secret" is supposed to be the reason that there's no actual evidence of them, other than Dux's word.

there's an interview with sheldon lettich, the guy who wrote the bloodsport script with dux, saying how a "witness" that Dux brought along to corroborate his stories later confessed that it was all bullshit. guy's a walter mitty character. - that's interesting enough, in its own way.
