Well, these guys aren't fighting for the hummers, the houses or the big sponsors. But they definitely do fight. Not a bad card. We get to see LW sensation Michael Chandler in a non-title bout in his first fight since ripping the belt away from Eddie Alvarez. And Chandler's opponent, Akihiro Gono, while shot, has to own one of the MMA resumes with the biggest names. Check out these opponents: Matt Hughes Ivan Salaverry Chael Sonnen Shogun Rua (He also fought Ninja Rua) Dan Henderson Hector Lombard Gegard Mousasi Dan Hardy Jon Fitch And he actually beat Lombard and Mousasi and drew with Sonnen. I honestly didn't follow him until the PRIDE days. It's interesting to see his career before that. The dude is experienced. Should be a decent night. Main Card Lightweight Non-Title: Michael Chandler vs Akihiro Gono Welter Tourn Semi: Ben Saunders vs Bryan Baker Heavyweight: Dave Huckaba vs Damian Grabowski Welterweight: Ryan Ford vs Luis Santos
Okay never mind I saw the Grabowski fight. He looked bad and was exhausted by the end of it but to be fair he did fight one week prior in Poland and subbed Eddie Sanchez. That's two fights in 7 days all across the world from each other. Pretty crazy stuff. And onto Chandler who I am a big fan of. That fight was a mismatch anyway but oh well Chandler deserves an easy fight and I think the stoppage was premature. He drops Gono which is fine and then follows up with a flurry which Gono is blocking because what else is he gonna do and it gets stopped ? That's stupid. It's like when a fighter gets hurt in boxing and the guy follows up and throws a huge flurry but the guy is covering up and blocking everything and they stop it. Hate that stuff and hated it here. Wouldn't have changed the outcome I know but I still hate it and I'm just pointing it out.
