PPV draw or not in the States, Fedor is well known in Japan. Thanks to the internet, mma fans have the ability to see him fight via Youtube and other sources.
The point though is that Fedor doesn't need the UFC at all. He's living contently in his home country of Russia and making millions while pursuing other interests.
Pride events drew monster crowds in Japan, selling out the Saitama Super Arena, etc. The UFC will not make any kind of mark in Japan, especially after closing Pride offices. Hell the UFC didn't do sh*t in the UK either. They had to let in 1/2 the crowd for free to try and give a 'sold out' atmoshphere. They lost a lot of money in the UK.
The UFC is not the be all/end all of MMA. In 2 years, they will not be ruling MMA. Other leagues will come in and start snatching up the talent. Hell if they couldn't even keep Randy Couture, what does that tell you?
Dana White is riding high but soon, the UFC will plateau if it hasn't already. Even mma fans themselves are talking sh* about Dana and the UFC.
The UFC is now throwing TUF fighters as ppv main events. You got Bisping vs Evans as a main event for an upcoming ppv. The fans are pissed. You don't think it's gonna damage the UFC's credibility by throwing out sh*t like this? It already has. Unless Dana gets his act together, the UFC is gonna really start hurting.

The more leagues the better IMO.the worst thing that ever happened to MMA was when PRIDE went out of business, now I'm hoping the other promotions can take that next step up
