Brian Kenny was disgraceful last night

I thought Canelo won a clear 7-5 decision last night. I don't have a big problem with 8-4 either.

However, this fuckin annoying mouthpiece Brian Kenny made it seem like we were watchin some Mayweather-Corrales type of clinic. He truly made it sound like Jacobs was having zero success.

Made virtually NO mention of anything Jacobs did, while sucking off Canelo every chance he got - even in spots when the Ginger was just standing there doing nothing.

He even mentioned how the Latin Fake had to correct his bitch ass, because he kept saying "the middleweight champ is looking spectacular" and Mora wrote down on a piece of paper in front of him, "they're both champions."

It was disgusting. So blatantly biased that I think even Lampley called in and said, "Call it fair!"

 

I watched just enough highlights to catch the Jacobs hook in the 9th, and yes, Kenny was sucking Canelos cock, even then.

Kenny basically took 1 point from Jacobs for landing that shot.

"Oh, Canelo doesn't even look hurt".

Fuck off.

 

Yeah, that was part was sickening as well.

I caught the fight on a British stream. I've seen some heavy bias on their broadcasts as well but at least last night wasn't so bad. They had Canelo winning too but weren't making it sound like it was a landslide. They even brought up how some others had Jacobs ahead.

 

I thought the Brits were still pretty bad, IMO

 

They were definitely pro-Canelo but from the sounds of Kenny and co. in this thread they called it down the middle .

 

I can't fathom the Brits being as bad as Kenny. In all my years of watching fights, not sure if I ever heard a MORE biased commentary.

The fucker made a 7-5 fight sound like a shutout.

Didnt even PRETEND like he wasnt pro-Canelo. Even Mr. Cheerleader himself, Lampley, wasnt THAAATTTT fucking obvious.

The thing about Canelo that his groupies don't discuss is this - yes, he has good defensive skills when he uses them. And yes, he has good offensive skills when he uses them - but he doesn't INTEGRATE the two at an expert level.

When Canelo is being slick, he doesn't show much offense. And when he's putting together his offense, he can be hit.

That's why it's an INSULT to compare him to Chavez and Duran (and those comparisons are now being made), because Chavez and Duran were able to seamlessly integrate great offense and defense. In short, they were able to kick your ass and make you miss at the same time.

Canelo is either in one mode or the other.

Even if you thought Canelo won in dominant fashion, there is no denying Kenny was spewing propogandist material in his coverage. The entire broadcast, he shot down time after time unspoken claims that Jacobs was having any success whatsoever. He simply would not abide for a minute that Jacobs was doing anything other than losing every round. It was clear he was intent on nipping at the bud any idea that Jacobs was in the fight. DAZN is in the Canelo business for $300M. So there can be no expectation of objectivity.

 

If you thought Canelo won in dominant fashion, you have really strident criteria for what constitutes "dominant fashion"
