I think at 140 Chavez knocks him out and at 147 Algieri dances to a decision victory. Could be really interesting at a catchweight of let's say 144lbs...
Two of the fights would be very boring as Algieri would be doing a runner and probably quit if he was starting to get hurt. Pryor would be the only one quick enough to crowd him
Oh please! He wouldn't go past 6 rounds with any of the 3. He's a fuckin bum! If we're talking about Tszyu and Chavez in their primes, they had far less mercy than old man Pac.
Still it is damn difficult to KO a guy who only tries to survive and has quick feet. Imagine how passive he would be against Chavez or Tszyu or how quickly he would bail out after getting hit by them, as it seemed he wanted out against Pac
Ugo is right, I think some of you are underestimating how hard it is to KO a runner, or highly negative fighter. The GOAT couldn't even KO Viruet in 2 tries, or his brother, and it took him 14 rounds to chase down and KO Lou Bizarro. But when he did eventually catch Bizarro, my god :: WTF, embeds are no longer working. Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohauzFvthbU
Lol at the overreaction on this forum, especially at the constant overating of Tszyu. and the depiction of him as a killing machine As Mex said, It would be very hard for any of them to ko such a tall negative, fleet footed creep. Pryor probably does it since he's fast enough on his feet and with his hands to catch him, but I think the other two would have to settle for a decision.
Agreed. People seem to be forgetting the legends of yesteryear didn't have 100% KO ratios :: Plus of course Algae really isn't the easiest guy to KO. A big 140 pounder, bigger than all 3 of them, tall, rangey, and extremely negative, with good powers of recovery.
Tszyu and Chavez BOTH cut the ring extremely effectively. For Chavez, that's an understatement, and he's one of the all time best at cutting the ring. Tszyu also cut the ring very well. We're not talking about brainless Provo here. Both of them would beat the living fuck outta Algeri and force a stoppage.
I think the ref was so pissed off with Bizarro's shit by the end he wanted Duran to put him in a PINE BOX.
I dunno about Tszyu, but this was the first thing I thought re: Chavez. One thing the otherwise marginally talented* Chavez could do was cut off the ring and break a guy down. Size aside, Chavez would damage Algieri & stop him. * for clogg
Tszyu cut the ring extremely well also. Tszyu is the 2nd most hated fighter on this forum, only slightly behind Tito. I dunno where this misconception of Tszyu being talentless came from. Tszyu in his physical prime had very quick hands and feet.
Algeri's "size" doesn't matter worth a fuck, because he's not a physically strong guy. Tszyu, Chavez, and Pryor would man handle him. I dunno why some of you guys always equate size to strength.
Have a look at their respective fights Vs Hatton then tell me Tszyu would do better than Pacquiao. Pacquiao is on a whole other level to an overhyped scrub like Tszyu. Tszyu had a good counter right hand, and that's about it. Tszyu was a greasy bum. It wouldn't even surprise me if Tszyu got frustrated with Algae, and quit on his stool, if Algae was still there after a few rounds, after taking some licks.
I didn't mention strength, he's not as strong as any of them. Algae's size plays 2 factors, durability and range.
This is like starting a topic along the lines of "Better Striker... Gabriel Batistuta or Anthony Stokes??"
This is correct. Algieri isn't nearly as strong as them but his size enables him to take punishment more than a smaller as-crappy fighter could
