    Never been into Radiohead.
I mean I've got all their albums but I can't get over:
    * being labelled 'the 90s Pink Floyd'
    * singer with the cod-eye and wobbly head
    * guitarist with stupid shoulder-length hair who always looks down at the floor
    * bald-headed drummers (ditto Coldplay)
    * at least they have the obligatory boring bass player called 'Colin'
    * they probably all used to wet the bed whilst studying quantam physics at Uni.
    * I remember maybe 5 songs of theirs

Radiohead substitute alternate tunings, eno sounds and emotional moaning for those things actual great bands call "songs"

And like most bands of this ilk, they boast a shitty rhythm section

What do bands like Radiohead, Coldplay and U2 have in common besides myopic fans? Piss poor rhythm sections that would be lucky to pass an audition for the Ramones

that's a prerequisite for stadium scaled music tho, innit.... Fela kuti isn't gonna work at the 02 arena. Similar to why church music has no rhythm section at all and stays in one key. The form of the music follows the form of the venue irs written for

Coldplay buskers are the single biggest bane of my existence by the bye, I want a final solution for all those bland, defeated drone cunts.

What church music are you referring to?

And what does poor playing have to do with venue?

Radiohead are farrrrrr superior to Coldplay and fuckin' U2. Come on.

I'm off and on with them, but they've written some great songs over the years.

Yeah, I have more appreciation for Radiohead than Coldplay, but I get it when people slate Radiohead for souding depressing.

Coldplay and U2 are awful, they are clearly much, much better than those two bands.

My opinion is that radio head is pretty good. Can be tedious but 2nd and 3rd albums were no doubt good imo.

I am really impressed with u2 actually, and specifically their rhythm. They seem really good at their imstruments. And they come up with their songs all on their own. U2 is top notch. Definitely better musicians than Ramones imo, whose music is kind of garagy and raw. I like the polish of u2. Really sounds good!

Trust me, U2 are really shitty musicians

Better than the Ramones but I guarantee there's somebody on your block that could play fucking Rings around U2

Bono does admittedly have a good voice, even though if he had a horrific skiing accident which threw him into the path of a pack of hungry polar bears that just happened to be slow, meticulous eaters it wouldn't elicit much more than a "meh" from yours truly, I have to admit he has a good voice.

McDogg is right though, all three bands have shite rhythm sections. The saving grace for Radiohead though is that Jonny Greenwood is a fantastic musician, and Yorke is a good (if somewhat grating) vocalist who is always willing to try new things (although their attempts to rip off Aphex Twin didn't really work). Bono can sing at least. Coldplay have absolutely no redeeming features, shite rhythm section, shite guitarists and a front man who sings in the key of cunt.

I saw the fall on Saturday night; mark e smith came Onto the stage in a wheelchair, off his face, wheeled on by a massive drag queen. About half An hour in the drag queen wheeled him off to somewhere out of view where he continued singing...what else he was doing we could only speculate. Coke? Having his diaper changed? Then the singing stopped and the band hung about for a bit having hushed conversations with each other and a harried lookinh stage manager. The band made an 'a-ok' gesture at the crowd then walked off....then came back on for a sheepish looking encore without mark who never returned. Quite good.

Thats a pretty odd pairing...seems a bit like elton John taking captain beefheart on his 1974 stadium tour. Swathes of bemusement ensues
