    Not exactly a pairing:
    U2
    The Pretenders
    The Mission
    The Fall

But then, the whole tour had some odd backup groups throughout....

Saw the Fall in 1993 in NYC. Chilling show. Amazing they are still putting on shows.

I was just chatting to the guy who runs the insurance company downstairs, I know he's a music fan so I mentioned saturday....turns out he was in a band who supported the fall in the mid 90s! Only one step removed from the classic 'I was in the fall' tshirt, I was well impressed. What's more he said mark swings both ways and was aggressively hitting on their guitarist! I wouldn't have pegged it

I was left a bit like that by saturday. He literally looked like grampa marsh from South Park, half way vegetative, barely moving, gumsy, making gutteral noises, staring vacantly. I guess getting wheeled around by a massive drag queen was his attempt to add a bit of pizzaz

In other words, you thought it was a great show...what music and live-performance is all about.

Yes. Don't know if it was something I smoked that night or not, but found their music kind of horrifying. Superchunk had opened, which was the only reason I was there.
