My impressions on the first episode 'Earth': extremely similar to the original, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson emulates Carl Sagan as host in the 'spaceship of imagination' through 'a personal voyage'. The visuals are great, the narration ranges from the very simplistic so a first grader can understand to some other cosmology concepts a little more difficult to grasp. Dr. Tyson even stands in the cliff top spot Carl Sagan stood in his first series episode. The best moment was the Sagan homage scenes and Tyson's own testimony of meeting Sagan as a teenager and inspiring him to become a scientist. This entertaining episode suffered from a setback the original didn't encounter: lack of novelty. Since 'Cosmos' we have seen countless of great shows in Discovery Channel, National Geography Channel and NOVA. This one benefits from the pedigree of a legendary title and that it airs on a primetime non-cable channel, FOX, which can be viewed by more people than the original series on PBS. I am looking forward to the next episodes. 8/10

I'm surprised Panchy is allowed to watch this... Isn't it Heresy with all of its "facts" and "evidence-based conclusions"?

We're talking about a guy who thinks Quasars are science fiction

What do you think Neil Degrasse Tyson would think of that opinion?

Both of you are morons. Real science confirms Creation. Pseudoscience denies Creation.

I don't know. He never said anything in favor of evolution nor against creationism. He did believed in a Creator, though not the same one I believe in.

Panchy has been trolling you guys for years. He's a little Punchy, but he's not a literalist. :nono:

I mean, deep down he might think he'll go to hell if he drops the facade, but he's dropped too many hints for me to think he actually believes half of what he says.

I watched the first few episodes and honestly this new version is not that good. The use of cartoons instead of actors makes is look like it is aimed at pre-schoolers. Degrassi is not Sagan and the last two episodes were plain uninteresting. I am quitting watching this. How many of you are watching it?
