Koreans too. Remember Chi In Jin. Went toe toe toe with Morales. And was a crude machine. I lived over there man they had small privates on the hole from what I seen, but big figurative balls.

I disagree that most Japanese boxers are crude fighters like that guy who fought Cotto. Living in Japan I've caught a lot of Japanese fights and I'd easily say that the guy who fought Cotto being crude is more the exception.

Pretty much all the Japanese boxers I've seen are just as skilled as American and/or your typical Mexican boxer. I'd also rate their toughness as about similar to Mexican boxers.

It's funny you used the term crude because as I was watching it it was the same word I used to describe that Japanese guy.

And another thing. It's hit or miss if they show an HBO or Showtime fight in Japan and often when they do it may be a 3 or 4 week late replay. Pro Japanese cards happen pretty regularly though and they'll usually show the big Asian name fighters like Pacquio or Chocolito Gonzalez whenever they have a fight.

As far as this past weekend is concerned they showed the Cotto fight rather than the Mayweather fight since Cotto fought a home grown Japanese boxer. I had to download the Mayweather PPV to see all those fights.

Interesting, maybe I need to watch more Japanese boxers. I do like them generally, but they're often less skilled yet tougher than I expect. More toughness and guts than skill and finesse. Guys like inoue seem to be the exception,

You know what, I thought the exact same thing about the very same fighter when I made the post. That fight was memorable. Managed to give Morales a good fight through sheer toughness and guts, and a chin like a rock.

In fact Koreans might fit this stereotype more than the Japanese, as Japan does have some highly skilled operators.

If I was calling a fight, I'd feel awkward saying that a guy was "landing bombs" on a Japanese fighter...

yeah, it's weird that these Korean, japanese fighters are so though. They look soft, young and effeminate for the most part, yet are hard as fuck

It'd be embarrassing for Cotto if he couldn't stop a guy that scrubby Jesse Vargas stopped.
