    Southpaw made that much and:
    a) had a great cast that general public have heard of
    b) massive advertising everywhere
    c) a story that didn't appeal to just Fightbeat-assholes

This shitty piece of shit won't make shit...

The lead guy is black for a start.

You don't think black leads can generate interest?

Very few black actors can carry a movie these days, let alone generate interest.
Big Den is one, Will Smith, Freemann - but even these guys days' are numbered...

I think by old buddy Idris can sell a film these days. Morris Chestnut. Shit, the lead in the new Star Wars is black and that film's gonna make lotsa dollars!

    Idris - agreed.
He should be in some better, leading roles and it's a damn shame he isn't!

The guy from new Star Wars, Finn? I suspect he'll not make it very far in the same way as Mark Hamill did originally and Hayden Christensen did in the others...

The Rocky connection brings the curiosity & nostalgia factor that is selling this film. Were this film not related to Rocky, I'll agree with you that it could be overlooked

word. It's ONLY the rocky connection that has me even slightly interested. I'm not generally into boxing films.

Got a special screening to this movie in an Office Building in Downtown LA. All I have to say is wow, this movie is so good. The whole thing felt fresh but still was a beautiful continuation of the franchise. Stallone was arguably at his best and I wont be surprised if he gets a Supporting Actor Nomination. Definately go see this movie if you are a rocky fan or not.

I'm happy to hear that it's good. I still wont be going to the cinema to see it though. I'll wait for it to come out on netflix.

I would go to the movies to watch it, but I can't as I need to stay home with my children and they have zero interest in this movie. [IMG]

It was very good, a very worthy entry to the Rocky franchise.

Good acting, I've liked the acting of Michael B. Jordan ever since he was Wallace on the Wire. I really liked some of the camerawork and fight choreography. There's one shot were the camera basically goes in a circle for a whole round, with no edits.

    Hey, Marvel:
can you hire 'Creed' director, Ryan Coogler, for that future 'Black Panther' film?

Avon Barksdale (Wood Harris) is in Creed. He plays Duke's son.

I always liked him more than Stringer.

Yeah he was rumored after some other black director turned it down. I personally don't think he is ready
