Why not? He has made two critically acclaimed films that have been profitable. He has a better pedigree than the brothers Russo had before doing 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.

Because the only reason they want him to do it is because he is black.

And who better to direct a movie about a brother than a brother? why give the task to a whitey who probably has a confederate flag in his house?

Watched it again today. It has rewatch value like the rest of the series.

Just watched it. Must say, was pleasantly surprised. Excellent film.

    Will likely be a sequel.

Watched it also and thought it was generic and formulaic.
Shades of Rocky and great sweeps of Rocky Balboa.

Nothing special acting-wise or boxing-wise. :dunno:

    Exactly.
The more realistic and gritty they try to make Rocky movies, the less watchability they have.

Those end fights between Rocky Balboa v Mason Dixon and Adonis Johnson v Ricky Conlon are as forgettable as they come...

Watched Creed last night. Meh. It was alright, I guess.

The makeup job on Creed's eye at the end of the fight was hilarious though.

It was pretty good, better than I would have thought.

I saw this Jordan guy for the first time and he was really good.

Also Stallone acted well in spurts, the problem was that Rocky changed from the original, bit slow guy to a wise old man and back throughout the movie.

Pretty much all the themes had been covered in the earlier episodes, but the new energic lead brought life to it
