Chinny or not that kick he got nailed with from Gonzaga would have KO'd anyone.

Mirko Filipovic was a great amateur boxing heavyweight in Europe and his one glaring weakness was his chin...the kick on Saturday had nothing to do with his chin, it had to do with he anticpated it low and caught it high...it wouldve KOed anybody.

Dude copped a 250 pound mans SHIN right behind the ear. That kick would have fell one of the Twin Towers (if the Jews didn't get to it first).

That said, Mirko fights like a man who knows he has a suspect beard. Always has. Doesn't mean he can't take your head off whenever something lands.

No doubt, it was a good kick, but a lot of peple wouldn't have been koed by it.

Very few. It's not always about the chin, it's often about where the kick lands. Everybody has a sweet spot and a hard shin to the brain can render anybody unconscious. It's obvious that was a hard as hell kick considering how CroCop's entire 225lb body torqued and his leg twisted severely.

That was a prime example of "You live by the sword you die by the sword". Cro Cop made a career out of knocking guys defuk out with kicks, it's fitting that he goes out the same way.

GREAT refereeing btw!! The Referee was quick to jump in and stop Gonzaga from inflicting any more damage (which could have been life threatening) on the virtual corpse of Cro Cop.

Correct. CroCop can now understand the pain of men like Igor Vovchanchyn who were recipients of CroCop's high kick. You know what's really ironic? CroCop blasted Igor with a left high kick and Igor fell down like a corpse, motionless and CroCop still went at him with a couple of punches and the ref had to literally jump in there putting his own neck in front of CroCop's onslaught. Same thing just happened to CroCop where he fell down like he was dead and Gonzaga landed a few more punches on his face before Dean could tackle him.
    What went around came around.:dunno:

Hunt got a granite chin, but I wouldn't put it in the same category as a Tyson, Tua or Mercer chin. He looked like a corpse after 2 rounds in his ko to Lebanner.

Cro Cop's been starched 4x from what I've seen. This was the worst though.

I hope you're not referring to a body shot stoppage as being 'starched'.

Still, his three significant KO losses on his feet have all been pretty sweet. Personally, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the way Donkey Kong squished his head into the mat, after knocking him flat with that left hook.

Tyson looked like a 'corpse' in all of his FOUR KO losses.

No shit. He went down and down pretty fucking hard...but still got up and fought on. I've seen thousands of MMA and K-1 fights and I can't remember more than a handful of harder shots taken to the face...where a guy was able to get up and continue.

As for Hunt's loss to LeBanner? Corpse?  I don't believe you've seen the fight. If you want Corpse, check out Hunt knocking LeBanner's head off of his shoulders earlier in the GP.

Strength of chin is an irrelevant discussion when talking about taking kicks. Even Marvin Hagler would be KTFO by a well placed hard kick from another Middleweight.

Kicks are at least three times as hard as punches on average.

I don't think Tua, Tyson or Mercer would respond well to getting kicked in the head either.:dunno: We saw Mercer quit after 1 kick to the head from Bojansky.

Mercer was an 1000 years old, and the kick was a far bettter one than the one Cro Cop took and he wasn't koed either. And in his fight with Musachi, he took numerous high kick right on the temple.

Amanzingly, punches are supposed to be harder than kicks, but I think kicks have more one "punch" ko potential due to the fact you tend not to see them.

It seems to me it's you who didn't see the fight ( the 3rd one between the 2 if I'm not mistaken) and confused it with the 2nd one that Hunt won. As hard as Hunt chin is, I'd highly doubt a Tua,Mercer,Tyson,McCall would be as hurt as he was from basically a jab and basically dead at the end of the round.

Don't confuse boxers taking a good punch in boxing to taking a good kick in K1. Tyson could take serious leather in boxing with 12 ounce padded gloves, but when he got headbutt, he was hurting like hell. He'd be hurting if he took a shin to the face in K1.

You think that was a jab?
You think he was done at the end of the round because of that?

Actually I didn't say his chin I said his head. Hunt has taken kicks that IMO were just as good as what Cro Cop got KO'ed with.
