With the bomb ghost in a shell and with Wonder Woman not going to do too good at the box office, I think these female comic book movies will be merged with male comic book heroes.

Ok I take it back. No bet. I'm not playing the " what constitutes a hit" game.

    Let's just see who's right

IF it makes US$600 million globally..I'd say that's a 'hit' (for DC's standard anyway)

Dude, you are underestimating the appeal of the WW brand. Suicide Squad was a relatively unknown title and the only mainstream appeal it had was the Joker. Still that film (which wasn't that good btw) did appeal to younger audiences (thanks to those well marketed music videos!) and made over $600 million globally. WW has a broader appeal as even grandma's will want to watch that film 'cause they KNOW who is WW. This film can EASILY make over $600 million.

It ain't about appeal. It's about figures, math and history. You will see

I don't know off hand what numbers are considered a hit...all I know is that it will be considered a big hit. It's going to make an awful lot of money. Wonder Woman is a popular comic book character behind only Superman, Batman and Spider Man in terms of fame and status.

I am relaying on the power of a recognizable vagina: that atrocious GAY Beauty & the Beast remake has made more than $1 billion worldwide. You can't deny it is a freaking chick flick dressed as a fairy tale. In this era of women empowerment I can see this movie appealing even to females that never watch superhero films. This is not another Disney princess, this is freaking badass WONDER WOMAN!

This is an important film for women I believe. Wonder Woman is a strong brand, so if this flops or doesn't do well I could see woman superhero movies not getting made anymore.

Maybe Marvel scraps their Ms. Marvel film plans, although I could also see them going the other direction and putting super effort into outdoing DC by attempting to do what they could not and make a successful female superhero film.

They will still get made, but will not have the $150 million+ budgets as the male superheroes. They will be more around the Resident Evil & Underworld lower budgets of $35-$40 million...time is ripe for a Vampirella movie: they will not spend much on her costume!

FOX, the studio that doesn't learn from its mistakes, has again flip the middle finger at fans who were hoping they would sell back to Marvel the Fantastic Four movie rights. In the biggest FUCK YOU, FANS ever by a studio, Fox announced yesterday they are relaunching AGAIN a reboot of the Fantastic Four, but this time the characters will all be KIDS in a kids friendly film ala The Incredibles!!!

    Another BOMB in the making...

They seem intent on destroying Fantastic Four as any credible characters for future movies...

Yup Anthony was proven wrong. He must learn to always submit to the wisdom of the sly one.

As for fantastic four, if the MCU made it it would have been a good film. The key to the fantastic four is to get the casting right...particularly Reed Richards. That's the main reason for the past failures

It wasn't so much the casting (and they got it all wrong in the last one), it is the changes that they did and the direction. Those were awful movies regardless of who starred them. And they NEVER got Doctor Doom right. The first two films were mediocre but still did decent box office. The last one as you know was universally hated and bombed miserably. They just need to give these characters a 10 year rest before rebooting it, but FOX don't want to negotiate with Marvel, sadly.

Marvel was only a well run machine after Disney took it over. DC was handily winning the movie battle for years.

Not really. Disney completed the negotiations when 'Marvel's The Avengers' was already in post-production. As an independent studio Marvel had already released four films and was filming The Avengers when the sale negotiations started. That is why you saw the 'Paramount Pictures' logo at the beginning since Marvel had a prior deal with Paramount to distribute the film.

HBO will make a tv series adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel 'Watchmen' and they want it to be a long running series ala Game of Thrones.

On this one I will not mind Zack Snyder being an executive producer and they can keep the look and tone of the film. I will love to see an episode on each one of the Minute Men.
