I don't know if he majorly changed a fight or changed a major fight with his power but blowing out Walter Matthysse and Mark Suarez in that stretch before the second margarito fight seemed to indicate that he was at least a puncher
Define "a puncher"... You could find similar results against that type of mediocre fringe opposition on the records of lots of guys that no one would ever accuse of having "fight changing power" Could Kermit Cintron punch harder than average? Sure... But KOs of relative nobodies like Suarez and Walter Matthysse do not a big puncher make... I never saw single good fighter rattled by Cintron or overly respectful of him, surely the marks of a true big hitter
Shitron had good power at 147. Not so much at 154. I always think that in a battle of frauds, Shitron would have likely stopped Andre Berto.
Only if he lands and lands big before Berto starts landing... Berto had a lot of heart, Cuntron had none
Berto lost his 0 to the most cowardly fighter of the last 10 years. Shitron would land big. Berto's defense was absolutely HORRIBLE, and his chin was shit.
HOW did he lose? Like a fighter or like a Cuntron? How is Cintron any better a fighter than Facelube? Facelube punched harder, IMO and had better "skills" ... Like Cuntron, he is a huge coward but he did climb off the deck to win a fight... Cuntron ever do that? Berto lost his fights trying hard... Cuntron lost meekly He's every bit a Berto/Ortiz level fighter at BEST... He absolutely blew. Never beat anybody, never fought through adversity. Even Ortiz of all people managed to get up and win a fight. Cuntron never did that shit and never would.
Ehh, I don't think Facelube hit as hard as Shitron. And I think despite Berto's edge in heart, I'd favor gy over him.
There's every bit as much evidence of Facelube being a big puncher as there is of Cuntron being one... every bit... If Berto is still hanging around after 4 rounds or so, I love his chances against Cuntron
To be honest brah, I'm not even gonna debate with you on this one. Debates are only worthwhile when discussing machups between quality fighters. Berto, Shitron, and Ortiz were all fuckin garbage. We'll leave it at that.
Ahhh yes, the deadly David Estrada. I admit, if you wanna compare their performances against Estrada, then Berto wins there. Shitron went life and death with Estrada, whereas Berto beat the living shit outta Estrada.
Now that I think about it, even Cintron ' s debut on Shobox was disappointing. Didn't he look like shit in his first ffight on there? Of course, he went on to become the poster boy for show box with his killer power and strange ass socks.
agREED If Cintron had all this "fight changing power" it would be harder to call. In reality Kermit sucked and his power was vastly overrated.
Cintron vs. Ortiz or Berto.......I think Cintron beats them both....all 3 are SHIT....and would get dominated by any of the TOP 10 Welterweights since the mid-late 90's
Cintron's fight with Feliciano was hilarious. After Cintron finally stops Feliciano, on his feet, he falls to the floor and acts like his hand has been shot off. It was a Hopkins/Luis Santana-esque display of acting
Remember when Sergio Martinez hit Cintron so hard that he got up claiming he was headbutted. Sergio looked at him and said "No No!" and shook his left hand around. ::
It did look like he was headbutted though. I would have bet the house he was until the replay showed otherwise. Even the ref was fooled and I think Cintron really thought he was headbutted there. It's funny how we've talked about Shitron for 3 pages here and nobody has even mentioned the bitchest move in boxing history. The infamous leap through the top rope and out of the ring.
He has been involved in some bizarre situations in the ring. The aforementioned fake drama with Feliciano. The (possible) illegal handwrap beatdown from Margarito that left Kermit crying in the ring. The swing and miss and leap through the ropes against Williams. One of the most brutal KOs against Walter Matthyse. And the punch that he thought was a headbutt against Maravilla.
I always hoped Cintron would turn out to be a great fighter. I met him back in 2002 at Cedrick Kushner's Fistful of Dollars one night heavyweight tournament in AC. I went over to talk to Tim Witherspoon, and he was hyping Cintron up to me as the next great fighter. I talked to him for a little bit and he was a very polite, humble guy. TFK
