When Lopez finished De Leon off all I could think of was Tito and how seemingly angry, nearly homicidal he'd become when he got his man hurt. Did anyone else see that similar fire in Lopez's performance? I was very impressed. His hands seemed very heavy and he put his punches together in a fashion not unlike a welter-weight Trinidad used to. Here's hoping there's no monkey business going on when it comes to his hand-wraps - I've never seen De Leon hurt by a punch, let alone stopped the way he was. And yet, Lopez cut him up like butter. Either way, I'm looking forward to his next fight which I think will be on the Pavlik/Hopkins under-card. Anyone know who he's fighting? Or who the list of candidates is?
Lopez is "Similar" to Tito N that he's Capable of POWERFUL Displays of SKILL...He was Very PRECISE w/his BOMBS, N Waxing Ponce... "However"... THE WAY Lopez's Punches R Delivered DOESN'T Really Remind REED of Tito @ this Stage of his Career.... REED:hammert:
....can't help but be very impressed by his blasting out of De Leon, his power was natural, he wasn't loading up yet they had devastating effect....restraining myself from making complete judgement and comparisons until i see more than one minute of him......

I agree he reminded me of Tito when he knocked Deleon out. The way he placed his punches and his aggression brought me flashbacks. :mj:TITO, TITO, TITO, TITO.

Penalosa/Lopez anyone? That's what I can't understand. How is it that Penalosa couldn't hurt De Leon but Lopez mauled him like he did. I guess he is a bigger man than Penelosa. Still, Penalosa/Lopez would be a great fight IMO.
DeLeon has never been down in his career I think. Amateurs or Professional. And he was Ko'd by Lopez.
I stood by his side, I'm 5'7 150 lbs, and I swear to you that he looked about inch and a half taller than me, and his body was huge for the weight he's fighting at, he looked more like a Junior Welterweight.
I can't agree with that. I saw him at the margarito fight and he looked like a natural super bantamweight.
Caballero. Now there's a guy nobody wants to fight. I wouldn't want to either. He's the 122 pound version of Paul Williams, except much more of a stinker and boring as hell to watch. Maybe that's why he's been squeezed out of the picture essentially.
I liked the fact that Juanma didn't got desperate after the first knockdown and took his time to nail DeLeon again. That shows maturity for someone so young in his first title bout.
Well, he certainly looks good against skilless Mexican fighters like Tito did. I can't say he reminds me of Tito though until he loses in humilating fashion to every B+ fighter and above he fghts and then goes back to Puerto Rico in tears and then quits the sport. In order for him to remind me of Tito, he needs a few shut out uncompetetive losses.
Not sure if the dude reminds me of TiTo but I'm a fan after he destroyed my boy DeLeon. Let the guy get a few more fights under his belt before he takes on the likes of Marquez and Vazquez.
