Now we all know that Dog Jones would handle Holyfield with the same ease as he would Ali, but how would Doug Jones do?

Jones gets beaten like a dog. Holyfield too sharp, too strong, too well-roi, I mean -rounded

    LOL

Doug Jones was a very good Light Heavyweight and had he fought his whole career there he might have picked up a belt (he had a shot against the master boxer Harold Johnson, but was befuddled by Johnson's advanced skills) but he chose to fight the heavyweights with mixed results. Its hard to really measure him against Holyfield because I have seen all of holyfields fights, I have seen him at his best and worse.

With Jones, all I have to go on is three fights (all defeats) ... one against a young future legend (Ali, a fight Jones did exceptionally well in but I still think he lost) ... an aging but far more experienced master (Johnson)... and an awkward, freakishly tall and negative hugger/jabber (Ernie Terrell) ... all I can gather from those fights is that Jones was aggressive, had a decent punch, but also that he was more of a fast starter than a finisher... I also can see form his record that he was stopped by lesser punchers than holyfield (Chuvalo, for example) and that it was rare for him to weigh any more than about 192 pounds

Based on the fights I have seen him in and what else I can gather about him from descriptions of his fights, I would say a fight with Holyfield at Cruiserweight would be similar to his other fights against the best fighters... he startes fast, wins some rounds, forces Holyfield to work, but the cream rises to the top and Evander's relentless punching and greater strength and size eventually take over the fight and Jones is stopped late

    Holy TKO14
