Most recently.... I've heard that Leonard was trash, and that both DLH and Mayweather would have knocked him out easily.

Also recently heard that Canelo is one of the best middleweights ever would have knocked out Hagler.

Amir Khan was like Terry Norris. If he had a better chin, he'd be pound for pound the best.

Manny Pacquiao's speed would overwhelm Leonard.

Floyd Mayweather beats any all time welterweight and junior middleweight.

Keith Thurman is too smart a boxer to lose to the likes of Trinidad and De La Hoya.

Duran was a no skill slugger.

Canelo would knock Hearns out, who had no chin.

Lol at the statement of Leonard being "trash." The Canelo one is hilarious too.

Also, I've heard people say that Marquez would have beaten BOTH Whitaker and Duran...

Extreme conservatism is just as stupid as extreme Liberalism.

In boxing: those who try to proclaim their boxing expertize are just as dumb as casual fans.

A casual fan to the extreme will say that a current famous fighter is the best ever..because that's all they know. A self proclaimed expert would say that a Mayweather is shit relative to past fighters...just to try to show that they know more than casual fans and so overcompensate.

Both are as stupid as the other.

A so called expert would say that Leonard punches harder than De La Hoya or some other modern puncher...even though Leonard never dropped anyone of note with a single shot, let alone scored a one punch KO.

Let me tell you a dumb statement that I heard on this forum:

Someone here said that Jeff Lacy would dominate and destroy Calzaghe in 7 rounds. Now THAT'S dumb.

Only Sly would view the title of this thread and think "They're attacking the God of Shoulder Roll! I must defend his honor!"

Your go-to for some odd reason is always Calz-Lacy. Maybe it's a Brit thing, I dunno why.

I hate to break it to you, but I wasn't intrigued enough to truly analyze that fight. Yes, I remember picking Lacy by stoppage, but I also remember very well stating that I picked Lacy more on being active than anything else.

Lacy at the time was highly rated due to his power but also the prevailing notion was that Calzaghe was slipping and in the pre-show to that fight (Barry McgGuigan interviewing Calzaghe at his camp) Calzaghe's recent performances were brought up, and Joe was also hampered by hand problems, and at 33 he himself was already talking retirement so there was a 'sense' that Joe was cashing out, possibly.

I think if this fight had taken place when Joe was younger, he would have been the clear favorite to win it going in.

"Frank Bruno would have beaten Anthony Joshua"

Frank Bruno wouldn't even have been able to spell Anthony Joshua

Bruno beating Joshua isn't far fetched at all.

Frank was a fast starter and a big puncher. Joshua is hittable, and his chin ain't great.

PLEASE explain to me how it's some kinda mismatch in AJ's favor.

But then again, you're the same idiot who thinks he'd dispatch of Bruno quicker and easier than Lewis/Tyson did.

You're an idiot. You act as though boxing talent has regressed over the last 60 years. In every other athletic sport athletes have gotten stronger, faster and smarter but somehow in boxing you think they have gotten dumber, weaker and slower. LaMotta has a legend...mostly around being the first man to beat Robinson and fighting the same Robinson 5 times plus he was the subject of a film with Robert deniro....so suddenly this makes him a god. Canelo is a better fighter than LaMotta and would beat him 10x outta 10 and send his ass back to the 50s with the message that boxing has improved since then

Joshua is MUCH better than Bruno and if you don't realize this then it once again proves that you only have "book knowledge" of the sport. Much better. Plus Joshua would dwarf Bruno in the ring.

Actually that wasn't a casual fan, that was written by boxing writer Graham Houston.

Lots of idiotic comments online from casual fans. Just go to anything on ESPN or YT discussing Mayweather.

"Mayweather is not good, he only wins because he runs all the time"

"Mayweather is the GOAT, he would have beaten both Sugar Rays, Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler, etc..."

Yup, Sly. You're right. 100%. Boxing is the best it's EVER been. The talent pool right now is ABSURDLY high. Those old wankers couldn't fight for shit and moved in slow motion.

Canelo would make Ray Robinson look like Ben Tackie.

Viva 2017! Boxing pre-Floyd was caveman like primitive!
