You've ALWAYS Had More Confidence in Stevenson than he's Had in Himself...

Haymon Only Signed Stevenson as a "Fuck You" to HBO, Who was Showcasing Kovalev in Canada @ the Time...Dude DUCKED Kovalev, Plain and Simple...Adonis "CHICKENson", as Kovalev Labeled Him...

Again. Claiming that stevenson ducked Kovalev is ridiculous. Guy accepted a a much better deal by haymon, which is what all sane person would do. and it's Kovalev camp that refused the fight last time around, on some ridiculous reason (we couldn't make a projection because of the volatility of the dollars, even if there's some financial instrument that can protect you against such fluctuation). Anyway, we had these argument before and you still absurdly put squarely the blame on Stevenson, even if the proof is there for all to see. But then, after all these years on FB, I know that most posters don't care about facts and only push the side of the guy they like most.

This is not to defend the rest of Stevenson career. Kovalev deserves a thousand time more credit than this guy, cause he showed he was willing to fight the best unlike Stevenson, who deserves indeed the Chickenson moniker (though not for the Kovalev situation)

Realistically you can't fault Stevenson for going with Haymon. Boxers don't take all this legacy stuff as dramatically as people pretend they're supposed to. People are just used to hearing all that "dare to be great" shit from athletes in team sports that make obscene money regardless of if they win or not.

Guys that came around in the last 3 years and linked with haymon struck it rich, so to speak. Most with minimal risk. Just luck of the draw

Maybe he can still lure elite prospects, but all the free money for marginal guys dried up it seems

Hes also really slippery, has a pretty good workrate and is fast. Anyway a fast southpaw that hits hard is a valuable commodity. Hell, pacquiao is a fucking legend and beside speed, workrate, and a big left hand, hes fucking basic

What You FAIL to Realize about Al Haymon is he NEVER Forces Fights on Guys...His Fighters Can Be as AMBITIOUS as They Want and He'll Gladly Accommodate Them...

Or, They Can Go the Adonis Stevenson Route, and he'll Still Accommodate Them...

Haymon Didn't Want HBO Monopolizing the Light Heavyweight Division, So he Made an Offer...But @ NO Point Has he Been a Hindrance in Stevenson-Kovalev Happening...That's SOLELY Adonis' Fault...

Kovalev's Fault in Canada Multiple Times, Including Fighting on Stevenson Undercards Trying to Make the Fight Happen...Kovalev Was Even Prepared to Be the B-Side of the Promotion, but he Still COULDN'T Get Stevenson In the Ring...

This is Clearly Some Canadian BIAS on your Behalf or Maybe You Even Know the Guy...Doesn't Change the FACT he Removed HIMSELF from Consideration for a Kovalev Fight and HASN'T Shown the Slightest Inclination Towards Doing So, Since...

Everywhere Else in the Boxing World, That's Called DUCKING...

Lol, the hell you're talking about. I'm putting squarely the blame on Stevenson for his woeful opposition and his lack of ambition. Still the Kovalev fight not happening is not his fault, cause at first it was HBO who was coming with some bullshit reasons (we don't work with Haymon), and afterward it was Duva making a fool out of herself.

Again, this is documented. Blaming Stevenson for signing with Haymon (which was giving him a much better contract) is more than juvenile

Kovalev withdraws from Stevenson's purse bid

Earth to Reed, the Kovalev camp is the one that refused the purse bid. I know it goes again your little narrative, so you'll probably ignore it, but it is what it is.

And again, this doesnt change the fact that Kovalev showed much more balls in his choice of opposition (and has a shot at greatness) than Stevenson (who will be rebembered as a Calzaghe type of fighter)

Do You Even KNOW What You Posted???...

Withdrawing from a WBC Purse Bid ISN'T The Same as Withdrawing from a Fight...It Simply Means they Didn't Want the WBC Dictating Terms of the Fight, and Considering Kovalev had EVERY OTHER Belt Worth a Damn, @ the Time, that Makes Perfect Sense...

A Guy Like Errol Spence WILLINGLY Accepted the IBF/Barry Hearn Purse Bid Because he was Still on the OUTSIDE Looking In...He Gambled On Himself, Took 30% of the Purse, Fought in Brook's Hometown and Still WON...

In the Scenario you Posted, Kovalev Had Considerably MORE Leverage than Spence and was Considerably MORE Established in the Game...

REED Can't Say he's EVER Heard of a Purse Bid Being Offered to a Reigning Champion of a Another Sanctioning Body, by a Rival Sanctioning Body...

And for the 50th Time, if Stevenson WANTED to Fight Kovalev, Al Haymon Would GLADLY Allow him To...

Unlike Stevenson, Calzaghe Actually GREW a Sack Towards the Tail End of his Career and SALVAGED a Bit of Respectability for Himself...Stevenson WON'T Even Do That....

That's BS. Kovalev camp pulled out of the purse bid cause it was obvious they would lose and that the fight would have went to Showtime. lol at not wanting the WBC dictating the term of the fight, did you actually read the article!!!! it was Duva who actually proposed to Suleiman the idea of makin Kovalev the mandantory.

You're proving more and more than your basing your opinion on emotions and not facts, and since emotions are impervious to rational argument, it's useless to argue with you on this.

Dude, Duva Stated about 50 Times that they were "Under Contract w/HBO"...So Unless this WBC Purse Bid was Going to Guarantee the Fight Took Place on HBO (Which it Wouldn't Have), What was the Point???...

REED Doesn't Have a Dog in this Hunt, so Sorry, You're WASTING your Time Playing the "Emotion" Card w/REED...Especially When YOU'RE the Overtly Pro-Canadian Poster Who Gets his Panties in a Wod EVERYfuckingTIME Others Accuse Stevenson of Ducking Kovalev...

If Anybody's "Emotional" Here, it's YOU...

Bottom Line, Withdrawing from a Purse Bid IS NOT Even Remotely the Same as Withdrawing from a Fight...You Could Withdraw from a Purse Bid In 5 Minutes, Then INDEPENDENTLY Negotiate w/the Other Party an Hour from Now...

Lol. I'm a pro-canadian poster now? Hell, I'm a lot more severe on canadian fighters than most here.

Ok, so now the reason for Duva is that the fight has to happen on HBO? Why is that acceptable for Kovalev and not for Stevenson (fights has to happen on Showtime)?

Duva pulling out of the purse bid proved to all that she wasn't willing to do the Stevenson fight unless it was on her own term, even if it would give less money to both fighter involved. By pulling out of the purse bid, Kovalev basically forfeited the right to claim that Stevenson ducked him (at least for any rational person). Duva is the one who suggested the idea of making Kovalev the mandantory to Stevenson, cause she thought Stevenson would refuse the purse bid, but her gamble backfired when Stevenson agreed to go on with it.

Simple question for you. If you were Stevenson manager, would you have told him to take Haymon offer or not (knowing that it was a much more lucrative than HBO one)? If you're saying no, then you would be a piss poor manager, and if you're saying yes, then you accusation of ducking is hypocritical.

REED'll Try to Lay this Out CLEARLY for You, Bruh...

Once a Fight Goes to Purse Bids, the Highest Bidder Wins the Right to Call EVERY Shot in the Course of the Promotion...In This Instance, the WBC Was Going to Call ALL the Shots, Even Though Kovalev was the Champion of Every Other Legit Sanctioning Body...

Team Kovalev WAS NOT Withdrawing from Fighting Stevenson, they were Withdrawing from Allowing Stevenson's Sanctioning Body and Promoter to Call EVERY SHOT...Period....

    2 Completely Separate Things...

All the While, the Possibility REMAINED for a Kovalev-Stevenson Bout to Be INDEPENDENTLY Negotiated...

Like REED Said, he Could Withdraw from a Purse Bid Right Now, then Call and Set Up an Independent Negotiation w/a Fighter, 5 Minutes from Now...

w/Out Question, Stevenson Made the Right Decision, Financially...But that Brings REED Back to his Original Point, of Al Haymon ALLOWING Fighters to Be as Ambitious as they WANT To Be, in their Careers...

He's NOT Don King Forcing Guys Into Anything they Don't Want to Do or OVERmatching Them...

Stevenson ISN'T Even Worth the Time Being Spent Arguing Over Him...

Look, I'm not arguing with the second half of your argument. Have said numerous time that Stevenson lack of ambition is dissapointing to say the least. He deserves all the scorn he gets for it (well, except for the Kovalev accusation)

Still, saying that he ducked Kovalev is blatantly false, since Kovy camp proved that they were even more unwilling than Stevenson to make any concession on the main obstacle to the fight occuring. Duva always said that the only way that the fight will occur is on HBO, even if it's less financial rewarding for the fighter (hence why her bluff on the purse bid got called and she lost face). She's the main culprit in this one, not Stevenson

Exactly. What is even more ridiculous is that Duva pushed for the purse bid then withdrew (with sone retarded reasons) when she knew that she couldnt beat PBC bid. Yet Stevenson gets blamed for ducking Kovolav lol. No way should Stevenson have to accept Duva request that the fight needs to be on HBO (which meant less $$) when he is affiliated to Showtime, the money maker and the linear champ. Dont get me wrong, Stevenson career is a major disapointment, and he seems more than happy not to test himself vs A caliber fighter, but in this case, hes not to blame

it really take some creative thinking to claim that a guy who willingly forfeit his position as a mandantory challenger is being ducked.

If you all know the reason Haymon signed Stevenson was to prevent Kovalev-Stevenson happpening why are you still arguing about who ducked who? They both know the fight isn't going to happen so any attempt to force purse bids, make career high payday offers or whatever else is just posturing. You two sound like the teenage poser faggots make up the bulk of other boxing sites.

I'm not claiming Kovalev is ducking Stevenson you dimwit. I'm only saying that stating that Stevenson ducked Kovalev is blatanlty false, since the only culprit in the fight not going to a purse bid was Duva. Anyway, the real reason the fight won't happen is because of this bullshit network war, since both fighters are big enough that neither Network want to fold, but not big enough to make cooperation between the Network worthwhile,

and what's the deal with Haymon signing Stevenson in order to insure the kovalev fight doesnt happens??? That some serious conspirationist shit
